Rockport diner has always been a nice place to have breakfast or lunch, but things have changed. Maybe under new management, new kitchen staff? Service was not good...the waiter was sarcastic (with other customers), rude to my elderly parent who didn't hear him, and seemed stressed. The food was equally inadequate. Home fries resembled deep fried croutons, over easy eggs under cooked. It's a shame...hopefully they'll get their act together.

We enjoyed an evening meal here, and had a very positive experience. After over forty years in the hospitality business i can attest that the first thing the pros look for is cleanliness, and this place was spotless. Very friendly staff, good recommendations from the manager, food was delicious and the pricing is very reasonable. While the name and menu are classic Diner, the seating plan is much more comfortable than the old-fashioned eateries we grew up with. I like this modern style better. Would definitely go back.

We stopped here for an early dinner. The fish chowder and corn chowder were delicious. The pot roast melted in your mouth. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. Great experience and cannot wait to stop by again!

LONG LONG LONG WAITS we got in at 10:00am and it’s now 11:30 and we still haven’t gotten served. We have seen people who came in after us get served first. The waitress was very nice but I’ll never com here again.

Great food. Nice servers. Very busy & very noisy but given every seat was taken, no surprise. Had a 3 minute wait. I had the veggie omelette. It was excellent. You have the option to have 1/2 an order. I took that with hash browns.

Always welcomed with a sincere and glowing smile by at least one of the crew of the greatest staff in midcoast. Always offered choice of seating. Coffee offered within seconds of arrival. Servers take your order within minutes of seating. Tables and floors are spotless. Place settings and super clean, wrapped silverware automatically placed when you sit down. Your food is delivered hot, well presented, with smile, and before you have had time to finish your first cup of coffee (which is always offered to be topped off before you run empty). Holiday decorations are awsome, atmosphere is beyond pleasant. Prices are competitive with others and in some cases lower. Menu is varied and offers anything you might want. Portions are generous. Pie selection is incredible.

No host. Nobody greats you. No system if it’s busy. You sort of have to try to flag someone down. Super disorganized. Slow. Slow to get a table. Way way too slow to get someone to get coffee. Slow to order. Slow for food. Slow to close out. Food below average quality ingredients. Prepared OK. An average diner breakfast, shouldn’t take 2hrs for arrival to departure.
