My friends and I came off the trails and were apprehensive due to what we were wearing but the staff was so beyond welcoming and hospitable. From the host to our server Susan, they went above and beyond to make our experience one that I truly can say is unmatched. The food was out of this world. It’s rare you find somewhere that knocks it out the park straight across the board. Round of applause for the staff at this great establishment. Thank you so much!

Decided last minute to have a Labor Day dinner, and had positive experiences at the Causeway in the past. Chose the outdoor seating option given how beautiful the day was, but ended up regretting it for the copious dogs and kids that were there as well. The bacon wrapped dates were awesome, but the rest of the meal was good, just not aligned with expectations for what ended up being a little more than $80 per person (including one draft). Nice view, but pricey.

We've been coming to the Maine Midcoast every summer for decades, and we just discovered the Causeway this year. Where have WE been? I made a reservation and off we went last night, only to arrive at the restaurant to find that I actually made my reservation for next Friday, not this Friday. Mea culpa. We were prepared to go elsewhere and return next week. BUT, they accommodated us somehow, and even on the outside deck -- even as others who came in without a reservation after us and were turned away! It was a beautiful night with a beautiful view, excellent service and staff, friendly ambiance, and a wonderful meal. We've found a new local treasure and we will be back. Highly recommend.

Ambiance was warm, softened lighting and table spacing was ideal. As usual we enjoyed a fantastic meal with some very dear friends from out of state. We hosted a 27th anniversary dinner for them and are so happy with how well the dinner was prepared, presented and served.

Beautiful views, high quality food, an impressive cocktail program, and quite possibly the most pet friendly restaurant patio I have ever experienced. They have dog beds for the dogs to sit and relax while you eat.

Wonderful Sunday brunch at this beautiful and well run spot.
We loved our experience here at the Causeway. We live in Maine and made a reservation 2 night before coming out. It was 4 of us, 2 adults and our teenage boys. What impressed us was the care and attention to the food. We had Cesar salad, cup of bisque, and calamari fries to share. No one wanted to share though because it was delish! My son had the duck and he was blow away, my husband had the lamb and again, hardly shared-however it must have been perfect because my oldest was picking the meat off the chop that he left behind. I had the filet which was perfectly cooked. The view alone was perfect, the desserts made for an incredible night for us. We are not the family who usually takes our kids to such a fancy place, however, we all loved it here and the kids declared we are coming back in the winter!

The food and drink at the Causeway is Flavorful and Delicious!! Probably the best braised short rib I’ve ever had! The roasted brussel sprouts and goat cheese polenta were also very appetizing! I would love to try everything on this menu! Maybe one day!!
Don’t sleep on the drink menu either, I had an amazing Old Fashioned one night and the house Marg was perfection!
Did I mention we had a perfect view of the sunset?!? Would highly recommend for anyone traveling by through Mid-coast Maine! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve been coming here for years and I love it . Stopped by for lunch today for some clam chowder and a cheeseburger. The chowder was great as usual however the cheeseburger was absolutely disgusting. It was completely black and chard on the outside and tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill. I couldn’t even eat it. I told my server about it she said that’s too bad and gave me the bill . Didn’t do anything about it and didn’t even care.
I honestly expected a little more integrity from this old time restaurant
