Food and service was great and casual. Good list of mocktails. We sat on the porch and it was nice, i wouldn't recommend sitting there when very hot out. We did notice they had heaters for cooler nights but no ceiling fans for hotter nights.

Shade at the Higgins Beach Inn offers a traditional dining experience with a cozy atmosphere that highlights the Maine coast. The food and service are praised as excellent. The new chef is doing a fine job and the kitchen hits all of its marks dish after dish. Guests enjoy the impressive and thoughtfully prepared fresh food, including the incredible blueberry wings, Lobster Scampi over Linguini, fish and chips, and a satisfying fish sandwich. The menu is generous with offerings ranging from fish to pasta and beef, plus daily specials and crowd-pleasing desserts like the blueberry crisp. There are good cocktails and a serviceable wine list. The staff are all attentive and kind. This special, seasonal place is in great demand, so reservations are in order.
