If you want dry burnt food this is the place for you. Huge party 2 of us got the chicken sandwich on a stale bun $19 which neither of us finished. Does slow smoked mean burnt and dried out ? Overpriced and over cooked no thank you would never go back.

A wonderful place for bbq. The for was fantastic, and the service was great as well. Don't pass on this place if you are nearby.

I’m not sure if this is normally how the food taste but this did not taste like good bbq to us. The brisket had a bunch of fat, the chilli didn’t have any meat except for a huge piece of fat in it. Again I hope it isn’t how they usually are but maybe the timing of my order was the cause since when I came in they were already cleaning the kitchen, all in all it didn’t taste that great for the price I paid, just left me disappointed.

Elsmere used to be good...and affordable. It has declined so much which is sad. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS! The buns on our sandwiches were stale, the cornbread tasted like it was a couple of days old, and the sauces are just not good. To top it off, they messed up my wife's order by putting coleslaw on her sandwich, adding a side if coleslaw (which cost extra), and when she pointed it out, the kitchen didn't remake it. They SCRAPED the cole slaw off, leaving some on the meat, and sent it back out. Who does that??? Did I mention that 2 sandwiches, a kids meal, with chips as a side cost over $80!! I will never go back here.

Good food! If we lived closer, we'd be regulars. We started with the Burnt End nachos. I had the quesadilla with brisket and my partner had the pulled pork sandwich. All of the food was great.

FYI to the boss: we came in after the lunch rush. There were two people working the front, Lila and Ryan. Lila took excellent care of us and also bussed and wiped down 6 tables, refilled sauce containers, and did some work in the back. The entire time we were there, Ryan made 3 drinks and moved some glasses around at the bar, but most of the time stood visiting with his arms crossed. Y'all need to give Lila a raise or a bonus or something. She was awesome. We noticed the dynamic and asked her about it; she didn't mention it.

Food is great for the price, bigger sized portions makes us all feel fat and happy. Atmosphere is great with a lovely outdoor seating area. Inside has a nice bar. Always willing to come back for more, & unlike the out of stater that 1 star this establishment I don't mind if a little gristle in my BBQ. Great food!

My lovely family & I are visiting Maine so we don’t have a very good perception of places to eat here, but this ain’t the play! If you’re considering eating here, do yourself a favor, pick up the nearest rock, club yourself in the skull, and then take a big bite out of your shoe. Guaranteed to be better than this joint. It’s very rare that we leave lots of food on our places, but when we left there was so much food that you’d think we were on Ozempic. My burrito had the right ventricle of a heart, my dad’s sandwich had the left one. (pictured below) So, if you see four pieces of lint fly by, that’s just us because we’re still hungry.

We've been visiting Elsmere BBQ for many years. The food is delicious and the sauces are a hit as well. The service has been very prompt, sometimes it can be slow depending upon how busy the place is. Order a drink and relax, if that might be the case. I recommend going when they open in the afternoon on the weekends, fast service and run of the place for seating. Nights are usually pretty busy, but you can get seated in good time.
