Day trip to Portland recently, and we decided to try this place. Based on that one trip, we highly recommend it. We ordered one pulled pork sandwich and one smoked chicken platter with sides -- mac'n'cheese, potato salad, cole slaw, french fries, corn bread. Good-sized helpings of the main dishes and sides. Pleased that nothing was over salted but very tasty. Chicken available off the bone (we ordered it) and on the bone, included both light and dark meat (which we liked), moist and tasty, not at all stringy. Ample hot sauce available. For our taste the cole slaw and french fries were very good, "as good as it gets", we'd say. Corn bread is "corn pone" style, not dry crumbly New England style. About $30 including 15% tip, ample food for two meals for us.Very easy to get to whichever way and direction travelers are going past Portland.Parking: Enough.Kid-friendliness: Bright, cheery, spacious.Wheelchair accessibility: Level entry, accessible, clean washrooms
I had a wonderful experience with Moe's catering! The food was high quality and plentiful. The packages are reasonably priced and the delivery was right on time. Highly recommend!

My son dined at your restaurant last night with his father. He ended up getting food poisoning. He was so sick vomiting shortly after eating there. I think you need to check your food to make sure it’s safe to eat and make sure your employees are washing their hands before preparing food.
Two bite side:I love the food, But so disappointed in the small servings you get with your side items when ordering takeout. They arein little tiny plastic cups. The banana pudding was two bites, period .. feel like I was kind of ripped off but again great food but When I'm Ordering takeout I usually tip 10 to 15 bucks. Total of $60 on last order so yeah You just expect to have more food than those tiny little cups that would be laughable If it didn't cost me so much..I also see the pictures in the reviews of those trays with all that food but take out is not that at all .
Have not had any BBQ since I moved to Maine from New Mexico almost three years ago. But Moe's got the spot! Definitely a chain, but very good. I had the hot link sandwich and a side of brisket. Both were delicious and the BBQ sauce was also very good. I am looking forward to going back to see what else is good to try.

Moes is our go to for take out in the South Portland area. They have perfected the meats, sauces and sides! The pulled pork meal with Mac n cheese and beans is my fave. My husband always gets the Banana pudding like nana used to make. My other fave is the Shrimp Po Boy. Oh my god. Delicious! We have also hired them twice for catering and everyone raves at how good the food is. I can’t say enough good things about Moes!
One of my favorite BBQ joints in Maine. If you haven't been yet, you are definitely missing out!!
