We finally made our way to Saltwater Grille, and I see now why this place is popular among locals. I can't think of another place in SoPo that offers similar views. If you sit outside, you'll get unbeatable views of Portland's Old Port and the East End, plus plenty of fancy boats. The menu was varied, and since we went for lunch, we opted for handhelds. My haddock sandwich was delicious, and the portion of fries that came with it was generous. My husband's burger was good, but he said it wasn't too memorable. The fish dip we got as an appetizer was not good; it was clearly previously frozen or something, because it was hard to even dip the crackers into it. We ended up using our oyster forks to dip the crackers instead. Definitely overpriced for what we got.
Given the vibe, I totally understand why the prices run a little higher, but I'm not sure the quality of the food makes up for it.

It was our first time visiting Maine for a bachelorette trip and we came to Saltwater for dinner. What an awesome experience. Our server Abby was so sweet and welcoming. Her personality was exactly what we needed to end our weekend out to a nice dinner. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the view was beautiful. 10/10 recommend this restaurant for any occasion and if we find our selves back in Maine we will be visiting again. Thank you again Abby

Be sure to book a reservation in advance. Our server, Emma, was outstanding—incredibly attentive and professional throughout our meal. The cuisine was so refined and perfectly executed, it honestly felt like Gordon Ramsay himself was in the kitchen overseeing the service. A must-visit for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience in Maine.

We walked in on valentine day and the restaurant was almost completely empty except for 2 booths. The hostess refused to let us sit at a booth and said only the bar was available. Ordered a beer from the happy hour menu I was given only to be told it wasn’t happy hour and the prices didn’t apply. 12$ for a beer. Won’t ever be back. Prices were ridiculous and their menu was small with no fried clams.

Joined our friends for their wedding reception tasting appointment. The organizer was on top of everything; very upbeat and thorough. Gluten intolerance and religious food limitations were taken into consideration. She was flexible in the arrangements to make sure it was K and J's day. If the tasting menu was a reflection of the regular menu, the food is a level above most restaurants i have visited! Would appear great location for events and also an evening out. On the docks, beautiful water view. Cool looking downstairs bar; I've been told drinks are fabulous! Plenty of parking and they do have valet service as needed.

This place was amazing. They offer baked stuffed lobsters as big as 3 3/4lb. Of course I had to try one. It was SO MOUTHWATERING. Everything was cooked perfectly. The view is to die for. A perfect dinner with the perfect view on a perfect night. Don’t pass this place without stopping.
