I have gotten sandwiches at DiPietro’s a handful of times and was really disappointed in both the service and quality of food today. I ordered a small ham and cheese Italian sandwich and received one slice of ham, cut in half, and used on each side of the sandwich. The bread was a hotdog bun, so very skinny and couldn’t hold much. For around $6.00, I understand it’ll be small but in other purchases, I’ve never received such little meat and cheese. Typically, I’ve ordered at the rightmost counter and so today, I waited to order with the man manning that register. He stepped away and I waited and when he came back, he scolded me for standing there and not going to the next register. “You can’t just stand here, you need to move down, I can’t keep running back and forth.” I made some modifications on my sandwich and he responded, “Why don’t you tell me what you DO want?” with a sarcastic tone. I am including a picture of my sandwich and can provide my receipt number for follow-up of this incident. I typically try not to post publicly and I like to support local but it felt important to share.

Classic Italian market offering wide range of beer, wine, liquor alongside some delicious sandwiches. I had the cheesesteak and it was very tasty but the sandwich was wrapped and folded so bad it essentially destroyed the sandwich. Besides that the pizza slices were yummy and had tasty pepperoni. Recommend trying this place out.

My wife and I recently visited Maine, which was a wonderful time. We ended our stay in Portland where we flew out of. This place happened to be a few minutes away from our Airbnb so we decided to stop and try it out for a quick lunch before some activities yesterday. Both of the sandwiches we got were absolutely outstanding. She had a salami and provolone, and I got the Italian sausage with mozzarella. We both agreed they were one of the best sub-style hot and cold sandwiches we have ever had. Mine was good enough that I ended up going back later in the evening and got the same sandwich, which was 100% as good as the first one from the same morning & she got a slice of cheese pizza which was also very very good. This is the first review I’ve ever given a place, so it is absolutely well earned on their part. If you want to grab a quick bite to eat from a cool little spot, absolutely give this place your time and money. If I am ever in Portland again, I know for a fact where I will be stopping.

I live 15 minutes away from this market but anytime I feel like an Italian sandwiches, I drive the distance to get the best bread you can get for a sandwich. I live very close to a chain sandwich shop in Scarborough but their bread isn't even close to DiPietros. You won't find a better italian sandwich anywhere!

Pizza was great the older woman wouldn't answer me when I asked could I pick the pizza slices I wanted. She reluctantly frowned. Pretty sad.i was so polite.. To her maybe she needs a day off

I wind up here at least two or three times a week. The owners are curators of their wine collection and will help you pick out just what you might like. By the way, the ratio of food / meat/veggies to bread is perfect in my opinion! Yes it's messy, but you get real food and not just bread. I also pick up last minute prepped dinners... Shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie... Great prices. Very friendly place, always happy to help. A neighborhood place. ..
