Waitress ignored 4 requests for napkins. Never introduced herself or welcomed us. She was annoyed when we asked the table be wiped down and the pulled a dirty rag from under the soda machine. We all thanked her for finally bringing the napkins and again when she brought our waters. She didn’t respond to us either time and purposely wouldn’t even look at us. She clearly had an attitude problem and ironically there was a tip bucket nearby. Almost got up and left after we placed the order but for some reason decided to stay and continue to be treated rudely
I love the seafood, they are very prompt and the clams and lobster i order almost daily, Delicious, i always call a few minutes early to order before they are open, and they always answer. Most places don't. I own a business and Doug knows how to run a business that keeps you coming back
I tried to get into Rockland Cafe after coming off the ferry the other day. Once again, they were closed, although internet said they were open. So I continued south, and as I entered Thomaston, I remembered there was a new seafood place on the L. It is WONDERFUL! I had lobster stew, onion rings. Both were fantastic. I kept watching these beautiful platters of food go by - including desserts and the "fanciest" chocolate milkshake I've ever seen. Some day -
I say this because one person wasn't happy with their meal? I don't know if it was the price, the amount (or lack of) of food or both. I will say, in our travels the past year or so, you DO NOT get as much of food for your money as you'd like any place, times have changed. Ok as for the food here, my wife LOVED the crab cakes, hell she said they might be some of the best she has ever had. We will be going back soon to take her mom. I had fish and chips and was very please with my dish as well
Good, fresh seafood. Dining in presents a cafeteria like environment, hard benches, bright florescent lights, soda refrigerators greeting you at the entrance. This was a huge disappointment given the building was erected specifically for the restaurant and was an expensive structure. Not a daily lunch spot given the price structure. $$$
Ordered a seafood platter to go. Got home with 2 fried clams, 3 scallops, 2 pieces of cod and a mountain of french fries. What a buy for $34.00! Went to visit the manager the next day to ask what happened and was told that he was not available. Asked the person behind the counter for a credit or something else and got a blank stare. Not going back.
Great new restaurant with great food. Fish and chips were great also you must try there great onion rings. Highly recommend this place.
What a great find just a little inland. Thomaston is a great spot to visit anyway but to find a small but efficient and really tasty seafood restaurant is the cherry on top.Whole body clams were just right. Lightly battered and done just right. Fish chowder had lots of fresh and tasty fish. An order of onion rings, homemade, light batter, non greasy and lots of flavor. Haddock sandwich shared was excellent to the two natives that split it. Cozy place. Clean and bright. Nothing fancy but a real delight. Good cold Beer and wine ( that could be improved upon). Reasonable prices. Server doing 3 jobs but took care of the 5 of us. A definite to go back to place. Absolutely! If you don’t go, you’ll miss out.
Great haddock reubon sandwich! So glad that we stopped for lunch.
If you don't obsess over the touristy atmosphere or glamour of more upscale restaurants and simply want great food, quick service, you can't beat this place. Delicious haddock, shrimp, and maybe the best onion rings I've ever eaten!

Fantastic hot buttered lobster roll and freshly delicious onion rings!
OMG! Four large pieces of fried fish and FF. Yes my husband and I decided to splurge. We didn't have to eat dinner after this...definitely worth the stop...friendly staff...all for $12.95...can't beat the price nor the the best fish and chips in town.
Yesterday was our first dinner at Doug's Seafood and we were impressed! I got the clam strip dinner and hubby got the clam strip roll. DELICIOUS and the BEST coleslaw we've ever had. Friendly staff, fast service, family owned. Definitely will return when given the chance.
Phenomenal food. Lobster roll was perfect, lots of meat and minimal mayonnaise. Cole slaw delicious! Fish tacos were a hit with my mom and my dad loved the fish n chips. So excited this place is in Thomaston.
Been to a load of 'seafood wanna be' restaurants... yours is the best and freshest. Great menu, desserts and friendly staff. Very busy. Always a great stopover. Thanks, George and Sharon
