Pad Thai noodles were a little undercooked and the shrimp were big and de-tailed which I liked, but they were slightly overcooked. The family running this place were very nice and the atmosphere is very clean but very white and stark. Its not cozy and warm like many Asian restaurants. Probably most of the local business is take out where folks can eat in the comfort of their own home. When I'm in the area I will stop back and try another dish.

We usually get take out from here. We live in the area and love Thai food and this is the only Thai restaurant we order from. We finally decided to dine in one night. They have a quaint little area to sit and eat. The family are very friendly and the food is always good!!

The best Thai food in the midcoast area. Drunken noodles- heavenly. The tofu better than anywhere else I have eaten. I think it's both because it's high quality local tofu and because of the preparation and serving. Delicious vegetables, flavors, fantastic quality.Vegetarian options: Vegan options clearly labeled as well.

Best Thai in the region. Each dish freshly made and absolutely delicious! Would definitely make the drive here from anywhere in the region to get their food.

This is the absolute best Thai food we’ve ever had north of Florida and it’s actually even better than Florida too. Maine is so lucky to have this immaculate restaurant which serves wonderful, genuine, healthy Thai food.

The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and welcoming. The dumplings and the Pad Thai were superb. Can’t wait to return to try some other offerings. The lime water carafe was a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend!

Best service and terrific food! Stopped in because we were in town for a concert, and we'll come back up just to go here for the delicious pad Thai and amazing crispy chive cakes (our new favorite appetizer!) - thanks for a wonderful dinner!

Great food and solid service! We ordered three dishes and enjoyed them all. The pad Thai, curry and chicken wings are soy free (soy intolerant here). My wife got the drunken noodles and pad krapow and was stunned by how good it was. The interior is very simple but very clean and well kept. Clean and modern bathroom. Highly highly recommend and prob and excellent takeout option.

Delicious food, and they have great vegetarian options. We order takeout, but the staff was kind and the food was ready quickly.

Second time here and excellent food both times. Highly recommend the curry puffs. Nice indoor and outdoor dining.

I am a retired Chef. I've worked for several reputable restaurants across the US. I love curry and particularly Thai Curry. You should give this place a try. The food is outstanding! I particularly like their drunken noodles. I tried their red curry on this last visit and it was excellent. I'd also recommend their herded wings. Very unique and delicious.

Stopped in during a visit to Maine in mid August this year. 3 of us for lunch inside (1 is vegetarian). We ended up ordering several of the apps and had a delightful time tasting and trying the various dishes (crispy chive cakes were by far my favorite). The spring rolls are fried, not fresh wrapped in rice paper. When we talked with the owner about that, she explained that until she had more business, it's not practical nor feasible to do it that way. Shame because I'm sure they'll be fabulous. We also had coconut shrimp and the curry puffs. When you enter, you place your order at the register, then take a seat and food is brought to you. Because we were there during summer, the owner's child was present in the kitchen and at one time I watched owner caressing their child's face and hair and then a moment later, came out from behind the counter carrying food plates. I did not see them wash hands between will admit I did not see everything going on behind counter so they may have...Dining room was bright and simple but felt warm and inviting. A very large parking lot is behind the restaurant. The location is on Route 1 in Thomaston ME at the edge of a park which was the former state prison, making a nice walk before or after your meal. It could be a bit difficult to pull in or out during peak traffic times on Route 1 so be patient. There were tables outside for those that wanted to dine outdoors and we saw several phone orders picked up during out time there.

Ka chai is such an awesome restaurant! A must visit if you love Thai food. Food is fresh as can be plus a super cozy dining area with tons of refreshing drink options! Definitely some of the best pad Thai I’ve ever tasted! The curries and dumplings are great as well and don’t forget the Thai iced coffee!!
