“Chuck Wagon is a quaint restaurant tucked away in the mountain town of Livermore Falls, Maine. It’s a nostalgic throwback to the Oregon Trail, retro diners, and small-town living.

The food is very good with a nice amount of options. Portions are decent and filling. The flavors work well together. The staff is awesome. Always pleasant and inviting. The owners do a lot of work in the community, which is always a plus.

If you opt to dine-in, you’ll get to experience all the quirky décor, the pleasant wait staff, and a truly enjoyable meal. Takeout is an option, too.

There is only street parking, but it usually isn’t hard to find a spot. Do keep in mind that a lot of tractor trailers and larger vehicles frequent this road, so be sure to stay aware of your surroundings.

There are a few local shops to peruse, as well as the Androscoggin River across the street from Chuck Wagon. It’s definitely a worthwhile stop in Livermore Falls.”

“This new restaurant will surely be a feather in the cap for the Mt. Vernon community. We were treated to an exotic six-course vegetarian dinner, expertly served over two hours in an atmosphere of mystique, adventure, and the warm glow of a forest cabin. Outdoor fire pits with lounge chairs invited us to sip drinks between courses, while indoors a wall fountain and soft background music set a tranquil mood for the 30 guests served each night. The prix fixe menu, featuring local fare, and which changes each week, is exclusively vegetarian (with fish offered only in July) and showcased thoughtful pairings such as peaches with nuts, tomatoes with basil, mozzarella and vinaigrette, and complex but delicate tostadas. Not for the faint of heart cost-wise, this is a rare and memorable dining experience in the Maine woods.”
