In this world of lousy food, The Steak House always delivers. It's one of the few places we can count on. You do have to plan a little w/ no reservations and it is very popular.

Visited the area from Ohio. Randomly found this place and 3 years later, we still talk about it. The four of us agree, it was the best meal any of us has ever had. My husband had the Shepard pie, my daughter and I had a sirloin and my son had chicken fingers. Phenomenal food, and our server was just as fantastic. I would love to go back someday.

Excellent food, excellent service. Never a bad time there.

I like getting there just before they open to avoid long wait times.

Service is exceptional, and menu has a large selection of items. Food always fresh and delicious!

My favorites are the seafood pie and chicken cordon bleu.

Sides are very good, too! e.g., twice baked potato, baked beans, spaghetti with meat sauce.

This place is a dimly lit, crooked old barn. And I mean that in the absolutely best way! Very warm and cozy feeling. No prime rib on the menu but that's my own problem. My grilled ribeye was fantastic. Believe it or not, the house potatoes might be the best thing on the menu. And that's not supposed to mean everything else isn't great... they're just that good!

Ate here last summer three times. Yea, the waits stink, but not a big deal to me. Steak is ok, and they say prime or choice, but they don’t say which one it is on any given night. They say you never know. I recently bumped into a former employee of theirs. He said they do prime maybe once a year so they can say prime or choice. More interestingly is that he said they sometimes serve select steak. The sides are rather bland, but I guess ok. Anyway, the third time visiting I ordered chicken parm. In a word: disgusting. Way overcooked, water logged, pasta. Soggy breaded chicken. No flavor. I let the waitress know and she responded “you ordered chicken parm at a steakhouse?!” Then walked away. Yes, when I’ve ordered chicken parm at steakhouses in NYC or Boston they’re delicious. It’s not like I was ordering Chinese food at an Irish pub! Everything on the menu should be prepared well. Thumbs down for the food and attitude on that one.

We chose this steakhouse in Wells for a birthday celebration dinner for my cousin, and it turned out to be their last night before closing for the season, no wonder it was so busy! Even at 5:00 PM the place was packed, parking was tough to find, and the wait was about 45 minutes. That said, they have a great system in place: we put our names down, waited in the lobby, and they called us over the intercom when our table was ready. The bar area was a nice touch, allowing people to grab drinks while waiting.

Once seated, everything was fantastic. We started with mozzarella sticks and Brussels sprouts, both of which were absolutely delicious. The steaks were the star of the night cooked to perfection and full of flavor. For dessert, we had cheesecake, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing it out with a fun cannon while we sang happy birthday. It made the celebration feel extra special.

Despite how busy it was, the food and experience were well worth the wait. We will definitely be back when they reopen next season. Highly recommend! 🥩🎉

Declining quality. Steak was tough. The place was packed with people. Staff miserable ‘hurling cattle’ In grossly overcrowded atmosphere. Only positive was the Overpriced drinks. Not at all what it once was I would not recommend it anymore.

This place gets mixed reviews, but I think their steak is fantastic (and I'm very particular about steak). I had their filet mignon again -- you could have cut it with a butter knife, it was so tender. Perfectly seasoned, great flavor. The two times I've eaten here were at the downstairs bar, where it's less crowded. It's a very popular place, especially in the summer when there are thousands of tourists in the rea.
