I’m going to give Bath Ale Works a five despite the place not having the best location but it’s all about the beer, right?
Well, to start, my wife who’s not much of a beer lover just LOVED the German lager. I went for a flight of the Sea Smoke IPA, the Belgian, the amber and the bitter. The ipa was very good and actually did have a touch of smoke to it. Not over powering but it made it a little different to the typical juicy Maine IPA. The Belgian Quad was excellent. Not overly boozy in flavor so the real ingredients could pass through to your tongue. The Amber want my favorite and I sometimes have troubles with ambers as it’s all about three hops and I know Amarillo isn’t my favorite but wanted to try it anyway. The English bitter was super tasty. Not your average poorly made bitter so highly recommended if you’re into that flavor profile.
Food hit the spot. We had the pretzel (cooked perfectly) and the sausage which we LOVED. it’s all about the air frying we learned. We then topped off our tummies with tattor tots with cheese and bacon bits. Yum!
The place can hold a good size party. Twelve beers on tap! And they also had a nice garden out back if the sun and temperature is doing your thing.
What a great find along route 1 , just outside Wiscasset. We certainly will plan to stop in the next time we’re going down east.

What an amazing hidden spot! Wish we had found this years ago! We come here once a year on vacation. Pepper is a wonderful conversationalist, and so friendly! Every beer we tried was excellent, and the food was amazing. We took some beer to go as well!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We are from upstate New York.

Finally enjoyed BAW with my husband and parents today! We visit the area yearly and never stopped (this is true for several places that we made a point to visit this year ha! Creatures of habit)! BAW was lovely. Huge space, great parking, crispy beers, and Pepper was there slinging the brews. It was wonderful. Sad we hadn’t gone before but glad we finally did today. Highly recommend. We will be back soon!

Don't let the looks of the outside of the building fool you. This is a serious brew pub with great beer. Very friendly people. Immediately we felt welcome.
Really cool spot! The beer and wine is very reasonably priced, service was so friendly, and the kids Corner for our 2 year old was an absolute highlight! We got a flight, and a few pints. All of the beers were tasty and they had something for all tastes (including canned seltzer, cider, and wines). The space was open and clean too! We spent try any food- but we are excited to come back and sample some snacks.
