Unkind staff. I walked in this empty establishment (only two staff members present) & asked if I could use their ladies room. Was immediately told “NO!”Most hospitable establishments would have said “Yes ma’am for our patrons & customers”. Not sure why she replied the way she did. She has no clue of I was coming in for a libation & tapas or not.Recommend you considering going to another local wine bar, one with more hospitality and kindness. In a silent way = rude.

The nicest people in town serving some of the best food in Maine. It's the first place I recommend to out-of-towners and locals alike. Not only is the wine excellent, the salads, oysters, and desserts stand out in particularly in my mind as some of the best I've had.

Fantastic wine bar, amazing food. While the menu is small, the attention to detail elevates each dish - you must especially try the scallops on the half shell - the lemon-olive oil emulsion and sea salt are simple - but elevate the scallop. We also tried the roasted eggplant currently on the menu. This is our second visit. We live in NYC, but have a second home here. In a Silent Way rivals any of our favorite spots in Manhattan. When you get tired of lobster rolls and fries, head here for a quiet, lovely ambiance with exciting, stellar food!

A lovely evening at Art Walk Wiscasset, Summer 2023 included an always lovely visit with friends at the Wiscasset Bay Gallery, and irresistible finds. The owners' recommendation for "In a Silent Way" was an unexpected treat. "Wine Bar" is such an understatement for this special eatery in Wiscasset...along the Maine Coast. Arriving at near end of service, we enjoyed a gracious greeting and "Old World" attentions from owners Chandler and Chez Zack throughout our meal. The superb wines on offer (and available in the adjacent retail space) guided our food choices. Local oysters, string-grown scallops...yes, both hand shucked and plated... Imagine fresh scallops with oil, honey and grains of fleur de sel, a chilled quenelle of fresh crabmeat with cucumber & barley and eggplant sautéed and dressed with sun gold marinara, parmesan & basil . More Creme de Bourgogne and a strawberry embellished panna cotta. In a Silent Way, indeed. We will return.

SO HAPPY to find such a gem in Wiscasset. A friend told us about this place and it is perfect. Lovely food, lovely wine, lovely atmosphere. I love the upscale casual ambiance, as well. They also have a nice wine store next door. It is right down the street from a local legend, Red’s Eats. Two things would make it more perfect, a more extensive menu and a patio so we can bring our dog, otherwise don’t miss this. You can make it a dinner experience [right now more small plates to go with the amazing wine selections] by having all the food choices. I am hoping they will expand into a full, but select, dinner option.

Perhaps my favorite place to eat and drink in all of Maine. Owners Chandler and Zack have created the most peaceful and personable space: soft light, mellow music, charming views, genuine kindness and hospitality. On the menu is a small but exceptional selection of wines by the glass and small plates. The food is amazing: carefully sourced, mostly local, not a trace of pretense but an abundance of care. I get the salad every time, and enjoy how it changes with the season. Emily’s oysters are always pristine. I had the best potato salad of my life here. The best panna cotta too, for that matter.Chandler’s wine recommendations never fail. I love that we can enjoy a glass at the bar and pop into the wine shop as we leave to bring a bottle home.We visit as often as we can and always feel grateful for the time spent there.

We heard the wait for Red's Eats was 1.5-2 hours long, so we stopped into this wine bar for some food and a glass of wine. This was such a great choice to be out of the sun, have a great view of the water, and everything we ate was so fresh. It was a super peaceful and chill vibe, and our server was so friendly! This is a no tipping establishment so we just paid with our card on the iPad after our meal and we were good to go. For the plates, we got half a dozen oysters, lobster salad, potato salad, and a blackberry panna cotta for dessert. The oysters are Emily's oysters which are Maine grown in Bath, and the most beautiful oysters I've ever seen. The lobster salad was my favorite, the dressing was so crisp and the amount of lobster was really impressive, that I didn't regret waiting for a lobster roll one bit! The potato salad was on the smaller side and paired well to the chilled lobster salad, and we couldn't say no to dessert of course. This is such a hidden gem in the cute town of Wiscasset, a great stop in you're driving along Highway 1!

The wine here is divine, and I just had the best eggplant in my life! A very nice setting. This was our second trip to the restaurant, and the first time we were here we had out of this world bread. They do a wonderful job! Check them out for sure!
