My wife and I have been searching high and low for a top-shelf dining experience in Maine since we arrived. Today, we drove 2-1/2 hours from Bar Harbor to Wiscasset to eat at “In a Silent Way.” It exceeded all expectations. James Beard-level food and wine. From the oysters to the steak tartare and raspberry panna cotta, everything was magnificent. Well worth the drive. Confident sharing, In a Silent Way, is the most elevated food in Maine. And lovely service as well. Gushing.
The nicest people in town serving some of the best food in Maine. It's the first place I recommend to out-of-towners and locals alike. Not only is the wine excellent, the salads, oysters, and desserts stand out in particularly in my mind as some of the best I've had.
A lovely evening at Art Walk Wiscasset, Summer 2023 included an always lovely visit with friends at the Wiscasset Bay Gallery, and irresistible finds. The owners' recommendation for "In a Silent Way" was an unexpected treat. "Wine Bar" is such an understatement for this special eatery in Wiscasset...along the Maine Coast. Arriving at near end of service, we enjoyed a gracious greeting and "Old World" attentions from owners Chandler and Chez Zack...
