Stopped for lunch, ordered chicken ranch wrap. It was excellent garnished with homemade chips and a pickle. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this restaurant that has one of the best views in midcoast Maine.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Jodie's this evening. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, staff is so nice and friendly. Great selection of beers on tap, also featured fun festive cocktails in honor of St. Patrick's Day. For dinner, my husband chose one of the specials...Bang Bang Shrimp tacos...they were incredible. My MIL got a reuben...she said it was one of the best she ever had (and we're from Jersey)! Lastly, for me, I just wanted something simple and opted for a BLT with homemade potato chips. It was truly so delicious, prepared on homemade bread, featured really fresh lettuce and tomato; and the bacon? Lots of it! Quality A++++You'll just have to try it for yourself to find out how good it is. FYI... All meats are smoked/prepared on site. The quality is tremendous. We took dessert to go...festive chocolate cookie with mint green cream filling and a brownie. Neither were overly sweet but delivered pure chocolate bliss! We will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you!

This is the second time I’ve dined at Jodie’s since their move from Route 1 to Water Street. I loved the route 1 restaurant: friendly & bright atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. Definitely not run of the mill. When my mother, son and I ate there a few weeks ago, we were not impressed with the service, wait time on food, or quality. The menu was nothing like what we’d seen on Facebook, enticing us to come dine. I wanted to give them a second chance, so my husband, son and I went today. It was a brunch menu. I ordered Irish eggs Benedict, they ordered cheeseburger baskets that were to be served with potato wedges. The hollandaise sauce in the eggs Benedict was too tangy and otherwise flavorless. As for the cheeseburger baskets, the burgers were definitely not fresh burgers, and were dry. They were disappointingly served with…. Tater tots, NOT potato wedges. That’s just sad because the potato wedges were really the only good part of our meal the first trip. That’s 2 strikes against Jodie’s in my book. If I’m in the area, I’ll give them a third and final chance, but I won’t go out of my way to make it happen. Very disappointing.

Had excellent burgers for 3 of our party and fish & chips for the other person. Food was tasty and the serving size was more than ample. And, despite the fact that the online menu doesn't show it, they DO have decent beer and wine available. The waitstaff were also very nice and helpful.Parking: Plenty of parking in March, probably more challenging in summer.

Grits are bland and boring. The menu depends heavily on fried crap and cheese rather than fine seafood and flavor. There are not many GF options, I tried ordering their special twice (because it is one of the few things I can eat off their menu) and couldn't seem to get it even though the place doesn't seem very busy to sell out of a special. The spot is pretty with a lovely view of the water and they can serve you an okay drink, but the bar is nothing special either unfortunately. The worst thing was the service. They had very few tables full, but told us they were full up the first time we tried eating there-the second time we were there the girl ignored us for 10 minutes even though the place was empty and then another girl said "it'll be 10 minutes"...we waited 20 minutes JUST to be seated in a nearly empty place! So yeah, not gonna be back unfortunately-there were three or four staff all gathered just talking in a corner rather than doing their job.

Took my brother to Jodie’s for his Birthday on a Saturday afternoon, and were pleased that it was not busy after being told there was an hour wait at the first place we tried. No one was near the entrance to greet us, so we stood awkwardly wondering if we were supposed to wait to be seated, or just find our own table. I noticed the “Special’s” board was on the floor, leaning against the hostess station (lackluster) and our server never mentioned to us what they were once we were seated. My brother and I ordered Ruben’s noticing the corn beef was house made, and sauerkraut was from Morse’s. We waited over an hour for our food, which was unexpected since there were only a handful of other tables. When our food did arrive, the server confused our order with what people at the table next to us had ordered. Servers seemed inexperienced. Our Ruben’s were good, but my son ordered a cheese burger which he said he could tell it had been sitting since it was no longer warm. My impression is that the kitchen is not being run efficiently. The whole experience felt unprofessional… like no one really cared that much about the customer experience. Thankfully I couldn’t have been happier with the company I kept. As we left, we walked past the windows looking into the cafe’ from water street. There was a shelf that ran along the window that had a cardboard box, plastic tub containing silverware, a random plate that had fallen in between the shelf and the window, and was just left there.. and other non discript items that gave the impression that they didn’t care what “impression” they gave. These were their FRONT windows! They were also streaked and dirty. Our last impression, but could be someone’s first.

My partner ordered the black bean burger with potato wedges and coke slaw. The wedges weren’t even lukewarm, they were cold. She had to send them back twice, and even with that they were never really hot. Her burger was also a forgettable experience.I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with “buttery mashed potatoes” and Cole Slaw. The potatoes were watery and the only butter on them was some I put on them after requesting some.In both cases the Cole slaw was watery and pretty much tasteless. Both meals suggested they were sourced from a food service company. We won’t be backJohn Dunn

A very nice little place, the food was quite good. There was a party near us and they were quite loud. It was hard to have a conversation. The view was pretty nice. I would have to give it another

Lunch TipSpent the morning in the area doing some family ancestry research with a friend and mentor.Back To LunchHistory brings up an appetite. Then a late lunch at Jodie's Cafe and Bakery in beautiful down Wiscasset. Love the renovations, great food and great service, right on the Sheepscott River. Easy parking in front, with municipal parking just down the streetCinnamon and Apple Tea, accompanied by Pancakes with the chocolate chips were a delight. Judging by the number of other patrons, we weren't the only ones enjoying partaking in the offerings.Very impressed, friendly server, the food came out quickly, and was quite tasty. And my friend had his eye on the delicious looking bakery treats on the way in and out…smart product placement.Always a pleasure to see and support local Maine and Midcoast businesses. Especially when I see the owner in the house, working alongside her team to provide exceptional service. I’ll be back.

This restaurant has a lot of potential with its commanding views of the Kennebec river and a pleasant interior. We visited when they first opened and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the excellent baked goods selection. However, this time in late December we stopped in for lunch and were very disappointed. Our food came in very late as though the order had been forgotten. It was very poor and appeared to have been rushed after we reminded the server. The cake display unit was totally empty. The staff were very shoddily dressed. It's like Jodie was away and the cats were playing! I would try this again in the summer to see if things have improved.

I have been to Jodie's a couple times with different people since the establishment moved to the new location --the former Sarah's café...On the surface this seems like it should be a decent dining experience on the water. Sadly, this has never been the case any of the three times I've been. I feel that the restaurant lacks grace and finesse and that is driven by a very poorly run kitchen. The first time I went for lunch. It was an absolute disaster waiting over 1 1/2 hours for a couple sandwiches and 1/2 the order never arrived because they had to redo it. All the while. there were only about 10 people in the restaurant and the manager was sitting in a corner watching the place struggle like it was normal. I would have been in the kitchen helping to figure out why the food was taking so long. The second time the wait was also long 45 min and the food was cold. Bread on the sandwiches was terrible--very dense...the corned beef of the reuben sandwich was shredded and dry, and 1/2 the chips were not cooked at all. The third time I figured would be a charm but it was also spectacularly horrid. The eggs which I ordered over easy arrived cold and one was over hard the other was almost hard...how did they even manage that one? The breakfast potatoes were deep fried, woefully over cooked and dry and to top it off they barely sauteed some onions and peppers and threw them on top of the potatoes. I honestly don't remember seeing that was even a thing on the menu but it could have been. They were also not seasoned. The toast was very thin and hard, cold, and wasn't even buttered. I had to ask for butter. The bread--I presume being made there--is dense and undesirable. For being a so called bakery I would have liked to see a better quality...I follow this place on Meta and watch the postings hoping for great things and that's why I keep going back. But alas I wont...it's too depressing to spend money and be unhappy to do so...almost unhappy....as the servers appear hiding in the server station embarrassed, waiting for the food to finally emerge all the while probably praying that it's a.) the correct order and b.) that it's cooked properly. I feel bad for them honestly. I wish that Jodie's put more effort into quality of food and service rather than posting photos of the nightclub aspect of this place. I'm going to wait a long time before going back. I feel sad about it but talking to many of my friends who have had very similar experiences...I don't know if good change is coming or this is well...it? I do not recommend this place based on my experiences. I don't know how all these great reviews are happening...so that tells me that either people like the owner personally, they have low expectations, or that there's really great days and really horrible ones and I have just had the misfortune of three occasions hitting the bad ones. If that's the case the fluctuation is going to really hurt the reputation of this business. Overall this feels to me like somebody who is running a restaurant for a hobby and because of the lack of high volume experience is totally not hitting the mark.Parking: During peak times there is inadequate parking and that is prohibitive to any quick stop dining not that anything there would be quick there anyway with a minimum 45 min wait for food even on slow days

A small but quaint cafe right on the water. Everyone working there was very friendly. I had a delicious fish sandwich and my husband had the Ruben. They both came with fries and a pickle. They were delicious and very filling
