I love Sprague's so much, I made our photographer get a wedding photo of us getting a lobster roll before our ceremony š I grew up in Wiscasset, and whenever I come back to visit my parents, it's one of the first stops we make. Nothing better than grabbing some seafood, a picnic table, and taking in the Sheepscot views. We love!!

Located right across from Redās, Spragueās Lobster is a great alternative ā with the same classic Maine seafood but without the crazy long line. In fact, sometimes thereās no line at all, which makes it an easy choice. The only downside is that itās cash only, so come prepared.
Their steamed clams are a must-try, and the lobster rolls are fresh and tasty. The service is friendly, quick, and efficient, which makes the experience even better. Thereās a nice seating area with a great view of the water, and even a small parking lot nearby. The only thing missing is a restroom ā if they had one, it would be the perfect spot for lunch or dinner by the dock.
Overall, Iād pick this place over Redās any day. Short line, good food, and great views ā this is the way!

This was recommended by a local. Apparently the locals know this is AS GOOD AS REDS...but sans the long lines. We arrived at Reds and saw about 60 people in line. So we decided to try Sprague's (not knowing at the time it was THAT good). I've had my share of lobster roles and these are without question the cleanest, freshest tasting lobster meats i've ever had. Was very happy. Afterwards I was in a business down near the Bass Harbor lighthouse, the proprietor told me all the locals know that this is as good as Reds. The tourists go to Reds.

Pro tip: itās served coldāwhich totally caught us off guard. It was loaded with lobster and came with butter or mayo on the side (we picked butter, but it felt a little funny with chilled lobster).
Itās a cash-only spot with an ATM onsite, and the roll was around $35. We also tried the clam chowder and cheese friesāboth were good! Bonus: you can eat right on the water with njce views.

We were waiting in the loooong line for Redās, and after doing a little research we decided to try Spragueās instead, and Iām glad we did. The lobster roll was great, huge with large pieces of lobster, served with butter or mayo on the side. Itās right on the water, so you can eat and enjoy the scenery. The service was friendly and fast. Skip the line, come to Spragueās!

We stopped here by chance on a trip back from the botanical gardens and it was just amazing! The lobster roll was the biggest I have ever seen! The wait was long-ish, and they are cash only, but all well worth it. We were also with some friends who donāt like seafood and they said the burgers, fries, and hotdogs were amazing too!

Good location on the highway. Cash only unfortunately. There is an ATM with a four dollar fee. Prices are comparable to other Lobster places. Nice seating area with umbrellas and right on the water. Service was super friendly and explained how to cut open the lobster.
