Out of town for vacation our lastnight for dinner we came here soon as we walked in the waiter was very rude as we didn’t know where to go we got sent out back where the bar is and mind you it was very loud I couldn’t hear myself speak wanted a nice quite dinner with my spouse and couldn’t enjoy it waited half hour 40 mins just for food and all we order was salad and nachos and waited 10 mins for our drinks that were not alcohol if you are not a regular or a person they know u get put on hold chicken was way to dry and they tried to charge us almost 80$ for all that I’m very disappointed as this was our lastnight in Maine. They have employees that are drinking on the job and sad that the owner was the one giving it to the employee.

I don't really know what to say. Its such a waste of a prime location on RT 1. Really hope someone buys it out.

The nachos were somehow sweet and looked like what an alien would attempt to make after seeing a single picture of human nachos. They were all burnt and welded together too.

Tips for your alien chef: eat a single order of nachos from somewhere else before making them again at your establishment. Also...please stop putting RED BELL PEPPERS on your nachos. Nobody wants sweet nachos.

Interior has that nice dated mid 90s light wood color to it. Bar is visibly dusty in the back. Someone will eventually buy it out, raze it to the ground, and put something decent in its place no doubt.

We will not be coming here again. The Haddock in the Haddock sandwich was so overcooked it was almost impossible to eat. The waiter was very pleasant, but we waited for the menus. In his defense, it appeared to be the only wait staff working. One of the dining rooms was small and cute, but the other was dark and dirty. Go on down or up the road and skip this place. Sorry.

Ruby's has gone down hill. Find another place to eat. The waitress was rude and confrational. Never got the special that was advertised and added extra to our bill. We were never told that if you pay with a credit card that Ruby's will add another 3% to your bill. The food was terrible. We will never go there again and will suggest to family and friends not to as well.

Very disappointed. Service was beyond slow. We had to get up and get our own napkins. Tables were so sticky, we had to pry our plates and other stuff off of it. Pizza was average.

Went to have an early bird dinner. Chowder was luke warm, bland, needed seasoning. Fried fish was over cooked and tough. Could view cooking area and watched as chef was hand tossing fries onto plate from bowl.
Prices charged did not reflex prices on menu and no notice of updated prices when ordering.

giving three stars because me and my friends just went there to dinner. food was good but there was something in the ketchup, it looked like either mold or an ant?
server wasn't really attentive for having only 3 tables, server also had headphones in.

This was our first and last visit to Ruby's. Driven by it for years figured we would try a new place.

We were greeted and seated very quickly and provided our drink relatively quickly.

The host/ server was really nice but stretched thin as she was covering the restaurant, the bar as well as acting bar tender.

The atmosphere is old, worn out, dark and dingy...there was even some left over pizza crust sitting on top of the headrest (should have known then and there.

The kitchen was open concept which normally gives you hope, but not this time.

The pizza section is closest to the seating area, past that you can somewhat see into the kitchen area where the two cooks were more interested in watching videos on their phone than focusing on customer service and quality.

Kim ordered steak tips medium rare, and sweat potato fries...

I ordered a fisherman's platter...

After 25 minutes, and being only 1 of the 6 parties in the place our server finally came back around and we noticed that she was grabbing the food from under the heat lamp that had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes (probably more)..

Medium rare tip were dry and very well done, covered with the aujus that we saw continually applied to the tips to stay warm...failed!

Sweet potato fries, cold and soggy...

$28 Fisherman's platter, cold, greasy, soggy, dark brown from the oil that should have been replaced months ago, the portions unreasonably small for 28 bucks...

The taste was aweful.... A few bites and we were done...

We tried to find the waitress to let her know we were leaving...

Found her in the bar making drinks and taking an order, I was patient for a bit but that didn't last long, I interrupted the gentlemen placing his order so I could explain we were leaving...

The gentlemen, clearly and rightfully so irritated with me, said thanks for interrupting while I'm placing my order, I said "you'll thank me later" as I walked out the door.

This wasn't a busy situation, this wasn't an understaffed situation this was the employees didn't care what the quality of the food nor the service was to the customers. There will be no second chance given and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had.

Only got served one drink and when asked if I wanted another it never came. Ordered the prime rare and it came over cooked. Couldn’t even eat it and didnt realize till I got back because it was take out. Wasted money and they never gave me my second side that I paid extra for. It took 45 minutes to get my food and the entire time I had to wait in the bar with customers talking extremely loud to each other

In need of a better business model for efficiency and customer service.
Many of the tables were sticky due to the residue that had been left from old tabletop covers. A few of our party’s menus were missing pages. The amount of flies around our table made it difficult to eat.
Our server was accommodating and attentive, so service was not the issue. All of our orders came out at different times, up to 20 minutes apart. Our appetizer was brought out last, and the kitchen never cooked a side of fries that was rang in.
For the food, it wasn’t great. The margherita style pizza had very few tomatoes, dried instead of fresh basil, and was unfortunately really bland. The prime rib was visibly poor quality. The only thing that both looked and tasted great were the salads with grilled chicken.
I wouldn’t come back or recommend unless the owner or manager took some initiative to change the vibe in there. It’s old, but not cozy feeling. It would be cool to see them take a more rustic style for the atmosphere and have the ingredients be fresh and maybe even displayed. They’re in a line cook setup formation and I think everything would taste better if it was prepped and made with confidence in the quality.
