So we wandered in here while exploring taverns in Alpena and a comfort just fell over us as we walked in. Small & quaint with that small english pub feel that just makes you feel at home, whether you're from the US or across the pond. You can actually talk here. A REAL Black & Tan came out and we were hooked. We didn't dine so we can't speak to the food fare but the one man band nailed the vibe with his ability to entertain like a 4 piece sound machine....
I’ve been in lots of Pubs in England and N. Ireland, so finding Black Sheep was exciting! And, yes, the look and feel is authentic! The menu is filled with classics: scotch egg, shepherds pie, fish & chips, etc.
Unfortunately, they were out of shepherds pie and the fish & chips was average (mainly because of the cut of fish which included the gray bloodline. But fries (chips) were great and it was served with malt vinegar!

Typical pub food...fried all the way. However the service could not be better. The beer they had on tap rivalled those in Germany. The atmosphere is congenial. A pleasant place to while away a few hours with friends.
