I love that the place and dishes have stayed the same since I was a kid. You get exactly what you expect. Consistency is awesome when you are only in town a few days a year. I know what I’m going to order months before I get there and it’s always as delicious as the last time.

Would have given this place zero stars but the waitress was friendly and was working very hard to answer the phone and fill orders. The food was NOT good. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken because he figured you can't screw that up. Well it was bland and pretty much tasteless. My Chicken Almond Din was bad also. The chicken itself was good but the lettuce under it was wilted and bitter and the sauce tasted sour. The only thing that was good was the rice. We were just passing thru town and thought we'd try a local place and ended up throwing most of our food out.

They offer Carryout only. Crab rangoon was good. The other meals we ordered were so poor we didn't eat them after a small taste.

Have had Mandarin many times. The food is good quality and always has good flavor. The only reason I am going with 4 instead of 5 stars is that they no longer have nor anticipate having dining in. I personally enjoyed going here for sitdown meals though I still get their food occasionally. However, I feel it is not nearly as good once it cools on the drive home.
The food was delicious. And the service was great!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will be going back. It's a bit of a drive to get there but worth it.

Great experience, the worker was very nice and the food was delicious, packaging for takeout didn't leak or spill at all and kept food warm for two hours. Do recommend when in Alpena
