TLDR: overpriced, not worth it and gave me a stomach ache. Never written a negative review before.

We got two apps, a main, a roll, and two cocktails. We did not finish any of the dishes because they were almost inedible. Better go to Pacific Rim or Totoro for the prices or sushi. The food was pretty fast

Cauliflower - undercooked and sauce was meh

Tofu - weird texture and super sweet

Short ribs - tough and overly sweet

Sweet potato roll - the sushi rice was congealed and super super sticky

Cocktails - bitter and odd

Everything was great at our recent visit to Azalea! The service was amazing and made sure we were always good with our drinks and food. The food was all delicious! We especially liked the Dolsot with short rib, Gochujang Rigatoni, and the Wagyu Dumplings!

The food is really bad and really expansive.
The shrimp in my soba is flavorless, they didn't season it at all. The shrimp is of good quality though.
They don't even have proper takeout boxes.

Food was ok. We waited for an hour to get service and we got our drink we were served with a broken glass. Manager gave us his card and said to email him about the incident but upto now a week later still no response. This was safety issue and looks like manager was all talk and no action.

We had the opportunity to eat at Azalea over the weekend. The food was great. And the service was amazing. We will definitely going back to try the rest of the menu.

Food was excellent, we liked the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the angus short rib was incredible. The honey nut pancake dessert was also delicious, reminiscent of korean hotteok.

The service was also impressive, they kept our waters topped up, brought our food out quick, and were attentive to if we needed anything.

I've come here twice in the past two weeks, once with a party of 5 and once with a party of 6. First time was outdoor patio seating, while the second was indoors.

While Ann Arbor's Asian food scene has been expanding a bit in the past few years, it's been more on the casual side. Azalea is a full service, sit-down place that has more of a fusion vibe, but the flavors are really on point.

My party tried most of the cocktails, and they're all very good. I ordered the house old fashioned and later an Ube-based drink. I think these are some of the best cocktails in town. Each one, whether it's a complete original or a twist on an existing cocktail, has one or two ingredients that make it stand out (Yuzu plum sake? Pandan? Calpico? whoa!). There's a set of zero proofs too that look great but we didn't try them.

The way to go at this place would be to do entirely shared plates, with one round of appetizers and one round of mains. There is sushi, but the rest of the menu is creative and fun.

Highlights would include the kimchi paella, mushrooms, fried chicken, and tuna tartare. The cauliflower is also great.

The vibe indoors was great, the dining area and bathrooms were all very clean, and the music was a good volume.

Waygu was fantastic. Not to be missed. Flavors were delicious, ingredients fresh and great quality. House old fashioned was worth having— a new favorite

Four of us came to this restaurant right after graduation. We were given limited graduation menu. We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 dinners and 4 different alcoholic beverages. Dinners and appetizers were ok, drinks were good. Service and ambiance was good. It was an expensive meal and overall the restaurant did not live up to the hype. We did not get a chance to try sushi though. But would I go there again for Sushi? I don’t think so!

The staff seemed surprised to realize they were operating a restaurant. I was offered a menu, and then a different menu, with no explanation of what or why even though they overlapped. My first dish came without utensils or even a napkin... On asking I got cheap chopsticks and cocktail napkins. The space seems to be what was left over after the previous restaurant went out of business.

The food was really quite bad for the price. We had some kind of tofu blob with kidney beans, some boiled veggies with sauce, and some pretty basic noodles with shrimp. The service was friendly but inexperienced. The acoustics were quite bad so it was hard to focus on a conversation. Don't recommend.

Fantastic dining experience at Azalea’s! My dining partner and I shared 3 small plates and 2 specialty rolls, all of which were delicious. The Midori Cauliflower, Wok Fried Edamame, and Sunchokes small plates were incredibly tasty- so many layers of flavors! Not to mention beautifully presented. We also enjoyed two very sizable sushi rolls- the Wagyu Beef roll and the Sweet Potato Roll.

Ray, our server, was so friendly and helpful in guiding our choices. Turns out that he’s also the master bartender and he mixed up two delicious Aperol Spritz- like cocktails with an Asian twist.

We’d go back in a heart beat- this place is not to miss!

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options abound, and many dishes which aren’t labeled as vegetarian can be modified.

Great sushi experience in downtown Ann Arbor. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The small plates were delicious and I enjoyed the cauliflower, crispy rice, and tuna dishes. Try the Azalea role, as well. The vibe is very modern and moody with dim lighting and elegant touches down to the plating and cutlery. The place is a bit hidden and hard to find – look for the glass door next to Blue Llama and head down the stairs.

Delicious meal + cocktails! Sat at the bar and got to chat with Ray the head bartender who was excellent. Explained the menu and recommended how much to order for our party. We tried the crispy rice, short rib, salmon, and waygu dumplings. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and made with a careful hand!
