Blue LLama Jazz Club and Restaurant is a great jazz club in Ann Arbor with an intimate, upscale atmosphere. The vibe is hip and jazzy, with a mixture of mainly UM profs and students and people who like jazz and fine dining. The interior is kind of shaped like a piano with tables and bench seating, all facing the stage. Every seat has an excellent view of the performance area. The dress code is comfortable, casual yet tidy. The quality of musicians is outstanding, with a 3 piece ensemble featuring horns, trumpet, bass sax, and percussionist that are top tier. The food is a little bit different but always excellent. The kitchen absolutely crushes it. A 3 course meal includes choices like Pumpkin soup, which was full flavored, savory cream, and buttery, and Beef tenderloin, which was very tender. The bar and wait staff are outstanding, with tons of drink choices. It is a very cool and relaxing vibe, perfect for a relaxing evening.
