For those coming here for the classic vegan options, those are no longer on their menu. They still have tofu options but the mock meat options are no longer available. They are still open on Christmas though.

Terrible service. Chef smoked in the common area, two tables down from us while we are eating. Waitress messed up our order and we had no service while all the employees were having dinner while we are having dinner. We tipped 10% and they came to our table to request at least 15%. Also, food is overpriced and mediocre. There are many better options around Ann Arbor if you want traditional Chinese food. Will never return.

It was good authentic place. I used to drive 40 min to have my favorite dishes. However I am sure the chef left and every dish is no longer the same even the menu did not change. What a disappointment! I Will not go there anymore.

I gave them 3 stars on google review since the fish is way too spicy and tofu doesn't have any taste. I am a Chinese and a Shanghainese, of course I know what to expect for these 2 dishes. The owner replied to my review and insisted the fish is ok and reason why the tofu doesn't have any other taste is because of the spicy fish. What a customer service and the reluctant attitude to improve. Good luck to your business!

We did carry out during the pandemic. Didn't get dumplings but ordered from rest of menu. Mapo tofu. Fried rice noodles with beef. Spicy beef tendon. Fried prawns. Good portions. Prompt service. Flavors are quite good.

Great lunch menu and the best Chinese food on this side of Ann Arbor.

I go to Chia Shiang often for their authentic Chinese food and good service. I love their Sichuan fish and the cumin lamb, the garlic eggplant and the Sichuan shredded chicken.

This place is so warm and cozy when you step inside and every one was ready to help us they were so sweet to my daughter and seated us right away This is real Chinese food not American !! It was great because we used to live in China and they had all my favorites the soup dumplings are my favorite and they had them!! Can't wait to go back and eat there again soon!!

Our go-to place for Chinese food.

I have never seen such rude waitress. She actually complained that 'your tip is too bad, and you should never come to this restaurant !' right under my nose. I will never go there as she wishes, and appeal to you to not go there.

I went in with my 2 year old and 8 year for an early dinner. The server got upset that my 2 year old had an ink pen coloring on a piecr of paper and got a little ink on the table cloth. She said we couldn't have pen at the table, so I asked if they had anything he could do instead. She brought over some paper and he got a little bit on the table cloth again and she told us we couldn't be there anymore. How ridiculous. Being asked to leave a restaurant because my child got a little ink pen on a tablecloth. Wow. We will not be returning. Have been there many times and will not be returning.

Having a most disappointed experience in the restaurant. While ordering nobody reminds some of meals very spicy the child could not enjoy them. After dinner the staff ask for cash for the deal when we prepared the credit card. Then the young lady yelled us complaining for the tip less than expected! Said"if you have no enough money don't go out to eat!" What a terrible time..

Finally got a chance to try the place... it only two years lol!! It was little after 4pm on a Sunday and the place was empty, got seated and reviewed the menu... they offer extensive menu offering, so review it carefully (side note, it was freezing inside the restaurant, they need to turn on the heater!!!!!) I skipped the Americanized Chinese food and went straight to Chinese chinese menu and let me tell you, they have a lot to offer.... I went with the following items: - wonton soup (ordered hot and sour, was told they didn't have any) - Salted Squid - Cumin Lamb Wonton Soup - very salty; skip the soup. Salted Squid - not bad, not as good as ones I had at other joints, but decent. One flaw - the squid was over-fried and thus chewy. Cumin Lamb - what I got was different then what I expected. Looks like they use dried lamb meat in this dish, which is mixed with the veggies and spices. The lamb meat has distinct taste to it... so if this is your first time trying cumin lamb, skip this. On a next visit, I will have to try their dry hotpot, those items sound good. For this visit, it was decent. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu.

This review is based on a single visit. My dining partner and I both thought our food was too oily. Other than that, this is a fairly typical Chinese restaurant.

My wife and I love Chia Shiang! The lunch special is great. Every dish that I've had here has been delicious, albeit some having way too much oil, but that's the authentic style. I've had many things, from hot-pot and fried peppered squid to orange chicken. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Chinese food. Fair warning though, the servers here tend to be rather curt.
