Frita Batidos Ann Arbor

Delicious food and drinks. We had the beef and fish fritsa’s and truly enjoyed them. I never knew what a frita was before we went there. My wife had the black bean bowl and loved it. I also order plantains and a churro. We all had a batido - chocolate, lite, and passion fruit. The drinks are not to be missed. Our only disappointment was the churro. My favorite restaurant in the entire world. I have moved out of Michigan but think about this place all the time. The burgers are absolutely amazing. Such a comfort food.

Incredible - Increíble!!!

This is worth stopping for. You’ll be glad you did!
Our friends told us about this place and mentioned it being a good stop on our roadtrip and they were right! Sooo much flavor in every bite.
Between us and our friends we ordered a chicken rice bowl, loaded plantains, a couple of different fritas (burgers) which come with fries on top but you can ask for them on the side, and several batidos (milkshakes): coconut, chocolate español, and a vanilla batido. All were delicious! I particularly liked the tropical slaw as an add on to the frita and the chile mayo. Everything has a kick to it so if spice isn’t your thing maybe ask for some alternatives. If you love spice this is your spot!
I also like that the batidos weren’t too sweet and everything was fresh. There was plenty of space to sit, it was very clean and even though they were very busy for a Saturday at 3pm service was prompt and efficient even as we sat outside. Also street parking was easy to find and you do have to pay for parking on an app.
For 4 people sharing a few food items and 3 batidos we spent around $50 (not including all items mentioned as some were items ordered by our friends) which was definitely worth it. 🫶 We don’t eat a lot and felt it was worth sharing food but sizes are not massive.
Whenever we drive through this area we’re DEFINITELY eating here again.

We ordered to-go food and then ordered milkshakes in person about 15 minutes before our food was ready. I waited outside at a picnic table, while my friend waited at the counter for our shakes. I was approached by staff, who questioned if I had ordered anything. I told him I was waiting for my friend to bring our milkshakes out, and he allowed me to stay. A couple of minutes later he said I needed to leave and then my friend returned with bags of food, our milkshakes and nowhere to sit. Very odd tense situation with the staff in that regard. Doesn't seem like a great policy.

Literally the only thing I would change is handing out a number so they can find you with your food, vs them yelling names constantly. It's not a great system. You get over it the moment food hits your mouth.
