So the only negative in this review be my poorly taken photos. Sorry. Moved up here from Florida and haven’t been able to find a place to satisfy my cravings for Caribbean food. Very happy to have found The Jerk Pit. Large portions, authentic flavors and amazing service. I called in an order for pick up and when I got there check on it, it wasn’t quite ready. Cashier said she would call me as soon as done. I said that’s fine. I’m just gonna go outside. Next thing you know there’s a knock on my car door and she went out of her way to bring the food right to my car, awesome!!! Ordered lots of food, for just 2 people, as we wanted to try a little bit of as much as possible. The Dhalpuri roti was excellent and really satisfied my wife’s, who is from Trinidad, craving for home style cooking. The Curry goat was tender and packed with flavor as was the Oxtail and Jerk Bbq wings. From the patties to the Festival, everything was excellent. So great to find this little gem and we will definitely be back!!!!

Waited 45 minutes for carryout. They were not busy. Ordered a side of dumplings and they were overcooked (burnt) but didn't notice until we were home over an hour away.

Jamaican Jerk Pit is one of those rare spots where every bite reminds you why food matters. The flavors are out of this world, deep, smoky, and layered in a way that makes you slow down just to savor it. I had the little eyelid sweat going on, that perfect amount of heat that wakes you up but doesn’t overpower the meal. Every single item I tried was a hit, but the chicken was easily my favorite. It was juicy, full of flavor, and seasoned to perfection in that way only real jerk chicken can be.
The rice and peas were unlike anywhere else. You can tell there is care behind how it is cooked, from the texture to the spice blend that gives it life. The mango cake was such a pleasant surprise, light and moist with just the right sweetness to balance the heat of the meal. I also loved the turnover. The dough was flaky and buttery, and the filling had the perfect touch of spice that made it irresistible.
From start to finish, this meal was pure comfort and joy. Jamaican Jerk Pit is easily one of the best food experiences I have had in a long time.

Finally got a chance to try Jamaican jerk pit and though the food was okay, I felt like the cook may have been having an off day. I wanted to try their curry goat but it was already sold out for the day so I ended up opting for the oxtail and jerk chicken with a side of rice and cabbage of course and even a pineapple soda and beef patty. The oxtail was super fatty and the jerk chicken wasn’t, well, Jerk chickening. I don’t know maybe I will have to try them again in the near future but as of right now it is a 6/10 only due to those patties!

As a self proclaimed foodie and traveller, I have eaten Jamaican food in various places. Absolutely none makes Jerk Chicken Pasta better than the Jamaican Jerk Pit in Ann Arbor, MI. Many Jamaican restaurants in America don't even offer it. The unforgettably perfect balance of the jerk chicken over the flavorful bowtie pasta and creamy cheese sauce is worth a plane trip. They offer non alcoholic beverages and mouth watering desserts with an island vibe. I love the authenticity of the Jamaican Jerk Pit. The crowd is always diverse. Most choose seating in the restaurant's lower level (closer to the best and real Jamaican cooks I know) The team of cooks ensure that the food is consistently great. I have been coming to the Jamaican Jerk Pit for decades. Thanks to the dynamic duo in the kitchen, college aged wait staff, decor, and U of M atmosphere...this place always feel like home. They have mastered the intimate, memorable, unique experience that would make customers chase their food and vibe pretty much anywhere. I really wished that they would expand to other states. The world should experience this perfectly authentic Jamaican treasure. The price is right for this delectable experience. Its a college campus, but parking is reasonably accessible given that. The locale may prove challenging to those who are handicap. Otherwise, I admonish you to visit soon and often. You will be glad that you did.
One of my favorite Ann Arbor restaurant. Food is always excellent, be careful when selecting spice level they are for real. I usually go at lunch for the Jamaican Jerk Chicken lunch special. Always great. It is a small place but still very enjoyable to sit and enjoy. A lot of people get take out.

Small and quaint, this restaurant is a delightful treat of authentic Jamaican dishes. Me and my homegirl shared a tropical salad. It was wonderfully different. I had the jersey chicken wings, she had the red snapper. The food was freshly prepared, delectably plated, and tasty and delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more on their menu.

Food was amazing. We had jerk chicken and goat. Loved both. Place was packed and we waited 45 min, probably even longer, for our order but it was worth it.

Good flavors but $42 for chicken oxtail combo is way overpriced. There was about only half pound of meat total
You can’t go wrong with the Cajun pasta with jerk chicken - huge and delicious! A favorite every time I’m in Ann Arbor!
