As Jolly Pumpkin is our MOST favorite beer and restaurant, we are sad that it seems the service continues to go downhill . Beautiful Sunday afternoon just before 4:00, not busy at all, we were greeted by hostess (only after the server waiting on the outdoor tables blasted in front of us while letting the door close on us only to chit chat with the hostess). We asked the hostess for one of the many empty tables in the front half of the restaurant since the great big windows were open. She said no, she can’t seat only two people at any of the tables. We said that we come often and are sat there quite frequently, without asking. She said she couldn’t seat us there “it’s policy”. Though not one of the tables was sat the entire time we were there. Our server took a bit to get to us but it appeared to be shift change over time. Thankfully, she was super sweet. We ordered two beers and an appetizer to start. 10 minutes AFTER we finished our appetizer, we still didn’t have our beers. Our server kept looking and waiting for them to no avail. One of our two beers was poured, only to sit there on the bar awaiting the other. 25 minutes after we sat down, we finally got our beers, one an inch lower than the rim since the head had disappeared long before. On the bright side, the appetizer, pizza, and beer were delicious and the server was great! And it’s still our favorite place in AA!

Came by to try a local brew at around 4:15 EST on 3/3 was met by rude female bartender. Sat at the bar and female bartender blatantly refused to serve me, acknowledge me, and would not even would not respond to normal "hello". I was patient as she ignored me as I figured she was maybe having a rough day, but as soon as a fair skinned patron came in, the female bartender began talking to him, taking his order, and served him. After helping him she still refused to acknowledge or serve me, and eventually had another male server, who was quite friendly, serve me instead. All I said was a normal hello. I don't know what the problem was, but it felt like prejudice. I am visiting the area, and so far I haven't felt any type of prejudice in Michigan until I visited the Jolly Pumpkin Café & Brewery in Ann Arbor.

Waiter was: blatantly disregarding celiac needs, confused about allergies, irritated when asking about allergies or food modifications, didn't listen for orders. Menu was not as expansive as the East Lansing location either having no gluten free and vegan options for allergies. Waiter was rude about allergy needs and needing to modify items. Do not recommend this location.

The Pumpkin is our go to place when we want a drink in Ann Arbor. Its a relaxed and care free place, with a staff that genuinely looks like they're happy to be there. The food is pretty good, but the menu is a bit limited-especially the appetizers. But beer wise boy are you in for a treat if you like a sour ale. Highly commended.

Simple no frills kinda place, good old school pub vibes!

There was a huge chunk of cheese in JP burger without melting, fortunately I took it off and then it tasted good. Truffle Pizza tasted too strong flavor of goat cheese… Dessert was so sweet that I couldn’t bite them. Service is good but not everyone would like the taste.

Stopped in with a party of 4 for a late lunch 2:30 pm. Restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. Our server came to the table promptly and was very nice and polite. It all went downhill from there. We all ordered drinks and then waited and waited...finally our drinks appeared at the same time as our food. Drinks tasted good (ginger cosmopolitan, espresso martinis and draft beer). Food was lukewarm and just ok. Fries were cold. With so many other options for food and drinks in Ann Arbor I am disappointed to have chosen this one (it was a special occasion).

The food was great and our server was super nice and patient with us and all our questions. I had the sriracha salmon burger with the truffle fries. The salmon burger needed a little extra sauce which I asked for later.

Good beer. Truffle Fries are delicious, but the portion size and pricing are disappointing.

Jolly Pumpkin is a fun place for a group and has been around for some time in Ann Arbor. The service was pretty good, but they were out of several drinks so I resorted to a cocktail (I don't recommend the Old Fashioned, sorry). The prices are a bit steep ($18 for my sandwich) but overall, the food was very good. I got the Warm Artichoke Sandwich with a side salad. My one friend got the Truffle Pizza (she said she always gets it because it's so good, I need to try it!) and others got salads or sandwiches & were pretty satisfied.

We had a nice time at Jolly pumpkin, the waitress was very kind and helpful, but the restaurant needs to strongly revise its prices. I asked if I can get lettuce and tomato on my sandwich and I was charged at the end $1.5 for the lettuce and $1.5 for the tomato ??. I will bring my lettuce and tomato next time or just go next door.

I love their patio! Pub food, geared towards American palate. The bland comfort food lets the beers shine. If you want to hang out with friends and drink, this is a great place!

Super delicious sour ales. They make their own sours and there's so many to choose from! They also sell them in bottles and they have them in the grocery stores as well. Server was super nice and gave us suggestions on what to choose for their beer flights. They can do a max of 5 in the flight. Very clean and the mugs hanging from the ceiling are super cool. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy sour beer like me!

It’s not one of our usual places, though on occasion it’s a nice change of pace. We were seated in a quaint table for two and found the menu QR code on the table before the waitress made her way over to point it out. It was dim and cozy, and a bit loud for conversation between the two of us. It was still a great atmosphere and we enjoyed being there. He enjoyed a fried chicken sandwich, and I enjoyed the grilled chicken with apricot and Brie. It was delicious, though I think we were off-putting to our waitress when I asked about ingredients (I have a lot of allergies/restrictions to work around). My husband mentioned that he didn’t think we were her favorites given her body language - maybe it was just a tough night. It may have also been a tough night for the table sitting next to us - given one of their handbags caught fire when it was pushed too close to the candle lit on the table. After pouring little bits of water on it from the water glass, they found it took a giant pour to extinguish it which led to water running across the table and onto a chair. At this point the waitress noticed a spill and brought napkins. We were happy to pay from the table’s QR code when we finished, but we still ended up asking at the bar for a box as our waitress never returned. The food was great, we can’t speak to the drinks, service was a bit off but that happens sometimes, and we learned to be extra cautious when open flames are left on the tables.
