About Ricewood

Ricewood, located in a building with a "York" sign, offers delicious East Asian-inspired barbecue cuisine. The rustic outdoor seating and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. The BBQ brisket is known for its great smoke ring and fattiness, described as tender, juicy, and loaded with flavor, with a crispy bark and melt-in-your-mouth interior. Customers enjoy the pork belly rice bowl, featuring fatty, juicy meat and a smoky flavor. The Ribs are appreciated for their quality, with some diners expecting a strong burst of flavor without needing extra BBQ sauce. Very juicy BBQ with an Asian twist has been praised, and the brisket is considered the best in the Midwest. The menu is minimal, focusing mostly on BBQ bowls, sandwiches, and meat by the pound. Diners can order drinks from the bar/cafe that shares the space and take their food to a common area. The outdoor seating area shared with other restaurants can be a bit loud, and some sides are spicy, which may overpower the BBQ flavor—offering milder options could improve balance. Customers have noted the amazing service and quality of the food, describing it as remarkable and some of the best barbecue they have ever had. The vibe is relaxed and chill, with a cool atmosphere. Overall, Ricewood is highly recommended for its great service, flavorful dishes, and exceptional brisket, making it a must-try spot in the city.

Being the job that I have and traveling as much as I do around Brighton and surrounding cities I try to try a new place for lunch as often as I can. Today I'm down in the westside of Ann Arbor and this new restaurant Ricewood BBQ, OH MY GOD!!!

On the recommendation of the lady behind the counter I got the Brisket bowl with sesame cucumbers, pickled onions and the spice was medium. A "real", in my opinion BBQ place, you even smell the smoke from the wood smoker walking up....read full review

Had the chopped brisket sandwich. Had already had the Ruben from their neighbor. Brisket was amazing. Soooooooooo tasty …..from the meat, the seasonings, the sauce….ugh. I’d eat it 3 times a day if I didn’t live in Illinois. And the woman at the counter was great. I’d give them a 10/5!

Brisket bowl is my go to! But everything they have is amazing! I wish they would bring back longinisa permanently?
