I have gone here on three different occasions, for three different tasting menus. Every time I was surprised by the offerings and everything has been delicious. We were lucky enough to catch the last day of their special pierogi menu night, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had this year. Amazing!
Spencer is the apotheosis of Ann Arbor restaurants. If you’re into that, I’m sure it’s wonderful. The food was fine, the service was shockingly bad given that everyone in the very small room is being served the same menu. And unless you’re at the very small bar, you’re seated at a common table. I felt like I was dining at a restaurant from any episode of Portlandia, which I imagine is what they’re intending.

Wine does not taste great, like it’s been opened for some time.
Overall, flavor is good but on a mild note and nothing stands out. Won’t revisit unless the monthly menu provides more variety.
