They don’t know how to serve canelles and their name is Canelle. They served a canelle to me cold and hard on a plate. I asked them if they could warm it up and they said no, it’s not meant to be heated. They had to ask their manager who also said it’s meant to be served cold. The pastries are beautiful, and they have some delicious breads. However, while the technique in their pastries is spot on, I found that they all lean overly saccharine. This is my second time eating here. The fruit based pastries (apple, raspberry madeleine, raspberry almond) have artificial-leaning extracts in them. I got the chocolate pastry and my daughter the banana. I thought I was eating something from the great British baking show. These pastries were so so so so so so so good and we’re from Grand Rapids. and it was worth the drive
