I was super disappointed with my trip to the creamery yesterday. I specifically went there because I had questions on cheeses made with rennet vs enzymes and wanted to discuss what would pair well with the other foods I had planned. I was the only customer in the store and when I asked about rennet the two people working looked at me like I was speaking Latin. They were extremely unhelpful and didn’t seem interested in trying to find answers. I felt unwelcome and like I was a burden. Then I asked about pairings but one of the workers could not stop commenting on my shirt and asking what other detroit sports I was into while ignoring my cheese questions.
Then when I was checking out the sports fan asked his coworker if I got any discount for spending over $100 or because it was my birthday and she just rolled her eyes and shrugged. I left feeling uncomfortable and overwhelmed. This was not at all the interaction I was expecting from zingermans and honestly I’m disappointed in myself for spending so much money after not being helped at all. Horrible experience overall and I will never go back.
Oh and I got home to discover one of the hard cheeses had a huge patch of mold (that wasn’t supposed to be there) hidden underneath the label. I thought about calling to see if I could return it but the employees were so rude I just didn’t want to interact with them again

The cheesemonger helps my friends and I select a pleathora of delicious cheeses. If you like spicy, I recommend the rattlesnake. It was a delightful treat experience and cheesemonger shared much cheese knowledge. Blue cheese is an infectious cheese :)

The cheese selection is very nice, but their ice cream is great. I tried their paw paw flavor during my visit, and I loved it. I normally like the fruit quite a bit, but it is an uncommon flavor. It was awesome to find it here. I'd definitely make a trip just to try it again.

Love the cheese, love the service! We regularly get the burrata - so much better than the mass produced grocery store brands. Pro tip: they carry different cheeses here vs downtown (both locations are excellent)

I haven’t been here in a bit. They don't slice cheese anymore for you, it’s mostly pre-packaged. That’s disappointing. Also - not only there was a tip jar, there was a tip screen that defaulted to 15% or 20% and you had to select no.
I thought part of the zingermans business model and being more expensive BECAUSE they paid a fair wage thus negating tips in a place like this.

This place is great. There was a very nice selection of cheeses to choose from. They also had warm macaroni and cheese on Mondays. They had a really cool single alcohol selection as well. We got cinnamon girl cider for my daughter. The inside and the outside of the store, we’re very clean and well organized, and had very friendly staff.

Zingerman's Creamery is a dairy lover's paradise! Their cheese is so good, it's udderly ridiculous. And don't even get me started on their ice cream. It's like a party in your mouth, and everyone's invited. The staff is also moo-velous, always eager to help you find your perfect flavor match. Trust me, you'd be udderly insane not to give Zingerman's a try.
