Not entirely sure why this is such an iconic spot in Ann Arbor. I came here a few times and decided not to wait in the massive line, when I finally did go for food I had a latte, bagel with the works, and apricot rugelach to dine in. The food was good but I was surprised that the $14 bagel came served as a bagel with a separate container with the toppings - I’m not expecting to build my own sandwich especially when I dine in or for that price. Everything came separate...
I don't like the offerings at Next Door as much as the Deli. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee and I have yet to find a Zingerman’s cake that really impresses me. However, the service here is still top notch and they have a great selection of chocolates.
Ordered a mocha latte. They called a mocha and when I asked if it was a mocha latte she said it’s a mocha. Then after awhile of waiting they asked what I had and I said a mocha latte. She was kind of rude about it. Sorry I don’t know coffee lingo but she could’ve easily said yeah it’s a Mocha latte. Especially since the menu has one drink called latte and one called mocha. Food is good tho and I like the vibe of the place
