Lucky Detroit Coffee Roasters & Espresso Birmingham

This is my new go to coffee place over Starbucks. The staff is always so friendly and then this morning the barista with a red bandana said “I’m going to say not to a pup cup”. I just dropped $20 and gave her a tip.
I guess I need to go back up Starbucks.

PS the coffee is great but the service is not.

I am on a mission to find my favorite coffee spot. My criteria is nice atmosphere (the less industrial the better), great coffee, great service, and real mugs. Lucky Detroit Coffee Roasters is in a very cute spot. A barber shop downstairs turned into a coffee shop. It is on the darker side on the atmosphere side. The coffee was good. But they offer the coffee only in paper cups which was a disappointment.

Stopped at Lucky Duck for a coffee. The cafe is a nice size with plenty of comfort seating. I ordered a vanilla bourbon latte and it was good. They have plenty of treats to eat but I only had coffee upon my visit.

Great spot for coffee. Do not recommend for work. Internet is terrible. Took a few minutes to load a basic website.

The place is cool, but hard to find as it’s inside a barbers shop, or at least thats what it seems. There’s no name outside.

There’s plenty parking space behind at no cost.

I ordered a capuchino and a chocolate croissant. The capuchino was tasty but tooo small 😥 and the croissant 🥐 is good but not great.

The bathroom is clean.

This is a great local coffee shop! The chai tea latte was delicious! I also really enjoyed the pistachio latte was fantastic with a little pistachio syrup. Lovely spot to sit and enjoy.

I first got the vanilla bourbon latte and it just tasted like steamed milk. The second time I tried Lucky's, I got a cold brew with whole milk. It tasted okay; however, it definitely did not live up to the value of the cost of $5.45. The prices that this establishment charge is ludicrous. I won't be a patron here.

Today, I visited Lucky in Birmingham and was disappointed with the service. I ordered a two hot drinks, a cheese danish, and a croissant and specifically asked for the baked items to be warmed, but when it was handed to me, it wasn’t warm at all. At all. To make matters worse, the staff member who served me had a bit of an attitude, which made the experience less enjoyable. Although the hot drinks were nicely presented with decorative foam (thanks to a different staff member), I didn’t care for the flavor. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place and I will not visit again.
