Rojo Mexican Bistro - Birmingham

This Mexican restaurant was good in the beginning, but declined to awful near the end. Not related to food, but the men’s room was disgusting. Listing here should be removed.

Please tell me this place isn’t closed forever right?!

This restaurant is no doubt one of the coolest place to eat in the neighborhood. Anytime I go there I am awfully pleased. They always keep their high level service and the topmost level of cooking they give. You surely will enjoy this this place. Warmly recommended.

Eddie is a fabulous server. He takes great care of the table and goes above and beyond! I will definitely be coming back and requesting him!

From the moment you come to this place the personel give you a great feeling. Very courteous crew, it is a good place to go out with your friends or with your date. delicious meals, professional chef, modest pay and professional service. Warmly recommended.

We showed up around 7 pm and the place was empty but for one table, which is sad because my girlfriend and I loved the Novi location before it closed. Maybe it's because they haf been dead but all our food just wasn't fresh. I suspect it was all from earlier in the day and they simply reheated it. We loved Rojo for years and might try this place again for lunch but this visit was disappointing to say the least.

Great food. Wonderful service and ambience. The tacos menu is very diverse and includes something for everyone's taste. Daily lunch specials are reasonably priced.

I would like to counteract the bad reviews this place has had with this really good one. Despite what I saw written here we went. I’ve always been attracted to the beautiful red chandeliers. The staff was great and courteous. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the jumbo margarita with the corona upside down inside! Also love the atmosphere. Next time I want to sit in the cool high top couches and chairs by bar. This place deserves more attention and better reviews.

Drink was good. But their food was not good at all no flavor. Will never go back again

Visited last night for dinner, the staff was great (josh). He made some great recommendations. I highly recommend the guacamole made at the table. Empanadas were delicious, salsas fantastic . Only thing was the rice and beans were not authentic, rice was like a minute rice with tomato sauce and spices and beans tasted like a can. As a mexican I base my restaurant on those two items . I would suggest do a whole black or pinto bean with white cilantro rice. After that being said i would go back again.

Staff is nice and food is served quickly. Other than that, it's nothing great. Grilled chicken chunks were chewy. Frozen margs were not blended well so it was difficult to drink. Once the ice melted, the drink was watery.
