The building itself is amazing, showcasing beautiful decorative glass and old woodwork, and the care taken to preserve its original architecture and feel adds to its charm. The friendly owner and bartenders are always hospitable and serve up excellent drinks, including a special Bloody Mary and a good selection of NA beer. With its rich history and beautiful decor, along with its great location by the Calumet Theatre and historic fire hall, Shute's is a must-visit destination. However, some guests have noted that certain items, like the smoked fish with potato chips, could be improved, and the bathroom facilities may need attention. Overall, Shute's remains a really neat place to visit, with interesting historical photos and a welcoming atmosphere.
