Much better than your sister vineyard French Valley. Bad experience there

The place was a 5 star all day long. Then other people were getting their food before us. And the exact same food. We waited a long time. However, the food was great!!!

Lovely experience. Many good options and fantastic staffing. Really well done; come in, choose, enjoy, leave. Fantastic for tourists, with very low barrier to entry.

Always friendly service, enjoyable and refreshing wines (our faves are the Chardonnay, Brut Rose, Auxerrios, and Pinot Grigio. Food options and fun and tasty. We also really enjoy the live music. Highly recommended for a fun afternoon for enjoying a glass, some snacks, great company and music.

Bel Lago is one of the best wineries in the area! Their view over Lake Leelanau, the tasting room and lovely patio, and the best wines! I am mainly a red wine drinker and Bel Lago has some of the best reds in the area. Lastly and most importantly - the staff are amazing, esp Pam R. She is extremely knowledgeable about wines, the Northern MI climate for growing wines and has a great sense of humor! Thank you Pam for an amazing experience!

Bel Lago is one of the best wineries on the whole peninsula. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a delicious flight and a pretzel. Carol is a delight, so knowledgeable and friendly. She is the cherry on top of a great experience!

Bel Lago is one of our favorites, wines and ciders are delicious. We never leave without getting a bottle or howler and talking about how nice the staff is.

Had a great experience at Bel Lago! Blake, the winemaker, was very knowledgeable gave us a memorable experience. The wines are excellent and reasonably priced. Some of the best reds in the area! Additionally, there is a great view of lake leelanau. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good time and good wine.

My partner and I came here in the winter of 2022..and we loved it. The guy manning the bar was friendly, warm, and shared insights on the wine flavors as well as the area. Also the wine was delicious!! We even shipped their wine to us in another part of the state after that.

Today we went back...and first off..there are no more chairs!! No chairs at the bar when there used to be many, no chairs at the one other table in there...it was very awkward. Also the lady serving us didn't give any wine insights...just sat there awkwardly watching us decide for minutes...then her demeanor changed towards us when we decided on sharing a wine flight. She then asked us to move to the corner as soon as we got it. The wines tasted overly sharp and acidic..like they are heavily intervened. I'm shocked its gone down hill so much since 2022. We tried 8 wineries this weekend and they came in last in both taste and service. Please think twice before spending your hard earned money here.
