Buyers beware - Friends ate at It’s a Matter of Taste in Commerce Township last night and 5 of their 8 family members were up and sick all night. They called today to let them know, and the owner's wife was very rude. She said there’s a stomach virus going around as well. ?I ended the conversation with very sorry and disappointed that you’re responding this way and I guess we won’t be back, and She ended the conversation with sorry you feel that way and hung up on me. Many others have said they have been treated this way also. Word is spreading via social media. They sure did not handle this well at all. I will never dine there.

Rude owners. Food makes people sick do not waste your money ! 600$ bill and 4 people were sick.

4 of our 9 guests got very sick the night of our dinner. I called and the owner’s wife told me it was very unlikely that they got sick from their food and that there was a stomach virus going around. I explained that was too much of a coincidence and after being up all night, the 4 guests are feeling better this afternoon. She still denied it. Very disappointed in the denial and bad customer service and will not be back.

Very expensive and fancy, but great food! On Mother's Day, they always set up a buffet. My family always goes.

Great restaurant. Especially nice in the summer and fall when you can enjoy the view of Union Lake.

Pre-ordered the Raspberry Blanc cake, a family favorite for a birthday party. Power went out on pickup day. I called, visited them, nothing. Next day I called, and visited. Power on, I'm pounding on door with a guy visible in kitchen. Called twice the next week, nothing. No trust in them, be careful. No-one answers. No one calls back.

We held our wedding reception here back in September 2023. The food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. The head waiter was amazing, she made sure that the wedding party had drink and food at all times. The bartender serving us that night was also amazing and did a wonderful job. Overall, the staff was amazing at making sure my and my husband's night was focused on the important things. But there were a few downfalls during the planning phase for the wedding reception here. We understand that inflation is happening all over so when the overall food and drink costs went up that was understandable. However, we signed a contract that outlined the deposit and room fee amount. During the final invoicing phase, the room fee amount had gone up by $100, and even though we had a contract signed for a certain amount they would not budge on honoring the contract price. The same thing with the service fee was listed at 20% in the contract but during the final invoicing phase they had it listed at 22% and they would not honor the contract pricing. However, the price increase inconveniences were only a few hundred dollars but when planning a wedding reception that throws off the budget. The explanation given was that their Staffing costs have gone up. So they basically pushing these costs onto the consumer even though we already absorbed the increased cost of the food and drinks from the original quote. Now the food was amazing but we had one downfall with our menu. We had ordered filet mignon as are entree but later found out that it was prime rib. We were a bit bummed out by this because we had paid for filet mignon and not prime rib. This is a big price difference. Even though the meat was incorrect the prime rib was amazing regardless. But it still was disappointing to pay extra for premium meat and be served prime rib. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication with our food menu from the event planner to the kitchen but this was a downfall for us.These are the main reasons for our four stars because of these few downfalls with having our wedding reception here. But overall staff, food, and atmosphere were amazing the night of our wedding reception!

Enjoyed the restaurant before it's closure last year....went a few days ago and were disapponted. Service was good but prices sure went up. We were even charged because we used a credit card (first for that) - cocktail prices were more expensive than other places we frequent..and a charge for "the rocks" is silly - just include that in the price of the drink itself. It was pleasant sitting out on the patio but not a flower or candle decorate any tables - you'd think in restaurant of this calibur, they'd at least have a little of 'that' - - -spent well over $100 for the 2 of us and didn't feel we had anything special!Sorry - we won't be back any too soon.

3 of 4 had lamb that was most disappointing.......very salty, and unlike previous experience. My wife's veal was poor as well. For almost $300 and charged $6 for credit card use, this restaurant, which we used to enjoy, has some major improvements to make. We will not be coming back. PS. The server spent three or four trips telling stories at our table but couldn't remember what drink my wife ordered.

This restaurant deserves a second chance. We went, and it was very good. From start to finish. Service was spot on, so was the food. Would really like to see people patronize it . It's a beautiful venue.
