Buddy's pizza is definitely at the top of Detroit style pizza. It's not overly thick and has great flavor throughout. The toppings are fresh and they let you do half and half in their large ones. The special seasoned sauce really seals the deal on the pizza and is free to add as a substitute for their original sauce. The wings were okay, but really small for the price. Probably wouldn't order those again. OThe waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and definitely helped us make informed decisions about the pizza. I would definitely recommend Buddy's and will eat there again.
Spring break road trip from Chicago. Naturally had to swing through and check off Detroit style pizza from my pizza bucket list and what better place to do that then Buddy's (the original). Not disappointed in the least. From the fast friendly service to the atmosphere having the feeling we were sitting in a place of pizza royalty. To the star of the show the PIZZA. It did not let anyone in my family down. I am so glad I did my research and came to Buddy's. It was an unanimous decision if we find ourselves in the area again we will definitely be coming back!

Pizza Crawl 2024 Stop #4For our 10-year anniversary we are stopping in Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and New Haven, CTThis is one of the pizza places I have been most excited to try as I love Detroit style pizza. There is not a lot of sauce, but the sauce that is there is good. I did not love the Parmesan in the crust. Overall it was very good!Vibe is what you’d expect of a pizza parlor and the service is decent!

Now to visit the next best Detroit style pizza restaurant, Cloverleaf, founded by Gus Guerra Buddy's founder and creator of the world-famous Detroit style pizza baked in a steel pan, pepperoni the first ingredient on the dough.
