Campus Bistro is easily the best option for breakfast in Midtown. Like it isn't close. Every other spot (except for possibly Olympic Cafe) is completely overpriced or doesn't offer a breakfast option. The draw of Campus Bistro is that it's a great value, especially if you're a Wayne State Student. Besides a couple of spots in Mexicantown, you will not find a more affordable breakfast than this. Also, your portions are huge, so a meal here can take you through to dinner. I had the steak and eggs and would guess that the steak I was given was all of10 oz.The service is awesome, and each time I've gone the waiter has been incredibly attentive. I used to go here when I was in Law School, and now that it's under new management, I think it's a much better restaurant. Highly, highly recommended

It won't let me give zero stars. Haven't been here since it was campus diner as I no longer work down the street. When I arrived there was a party of 8. No one else. That party was receiving their food in waves. It took ten minutes to have my order taken. 20 minutes later to receive my food:: eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits and toast. First brought my hash browns which were cold, then the rest forgetting the grits. Offered no condiments, on the table was salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce. I had to track the server down for ketchup for the hash browns, butter for the grits and jelly for the toast. All arrived at different times so I had to call on her three different times. I'm leaving more food than I ate because it was so bad.

We got the corned beef and steak skillet. The corned beef skillet was very good and filling. The steak skillet was a little odd. They cooked the steak separately on its own plate and not within the skillet. Ok, cool, I guess they give you the choice to cut it how you please. The only thing is that the steak was overcooked and tough to cut.

My friends and I were all up for a great meal at this restaurant, especially by the amazing smells. Things started off okay, but then the wait for food was painfully slow. We literally watched the clock tick for a whole hour waiting for our food. To our shock, we caught the chef in the act of scratching his backside so intensely he ripped right through his glove! As if that wasn't bad enough, a stray hair in our hash browns completely turned us off. That was the last straw; we just couldn't stomach any more. We lost our appetites and I'm completely put off. I’ve sworn off that place for good.

The old management had better quality. I’m really disappointed in the current quality of food.

The food is good here but a little pricey for a Coney island. Wait staff was great, though.

Campus Bistro at Wayne State is something wonderful. There are little things that are different about their breakfast and lunch offerings, for example, their lasagna soup – it's kind of silly but mostly delicious and is absolutely incredible. The restaurant focuses on providing fresh and from scratch meals, which means that everything is made when you order it. Something that means hanging out for a few minutes on a carryout and it has been my experience that the staff are friendly, happy to see you, and make hanging out waiting for your food a nice experience.I have gotten a few dishes from them so far and today was avocado toast. The bread is a thick piece of seedy multigrain bread, toasted with avocado, red onion and tomato, with the right amount of salt. Incredibly effective breakfast, cheap, and not super heavy, making it great for something just before work. And if you're in the mood for something indulgent, the salmon eggs Benedict is both very rich and not too heavy. The perfectly poached eggs, fresh grilled salmon, and hollandaise sauce manage to be both very decadent and (again) not too heavy to grab before work or class starts. What sets Campus Bistro apart other than the food and prices is just how friendly they are. You get very satisfying portions for a good price, they're open and ready to serve you early, and they are happy to see youCampus Bistro deserves a spot on your must-visit list, and if you are working, going to school, or living/visiting Cass downtown you should try your best to become a regular here - it is a great way to start the day.I plan to update this review after more experience with their lunch menu but listen to the recommendations on that lasagna soup.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian offerings provided or capable through their menu.Parking: Parking downtown is using the Zone meter system and at most times of day very available. There are Parking Structures close by if you want to go during a busier time, and it's a short walk from most places on Wayne State's campus.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level restaurant with abundant accessible seating.

Great food at a fabulous price. The service was top notch and the servings, at least for breakfast, was generous.
