Had a really good time at checkmate. They were very accommodating toward our group, which included mostly out of town individuals. The food was pretty good (I got the lobster fried rice). My old fashioned was a little watered down but overall my experience was very good. I believe this turns into an after hour type spot later in the evening but we were out by 11 PM

I had been wanting to try this place a couple times and finally time allowed us too. So my bestfriend and we on a double date and we came here. The place looks nice, it definitely has a nice couples vibe to it. The food was good. I wish they had macaroni and cheese on the menu but they don't, but my loaded mash was delicious with those lam chops! They were seasoned to perfection. I definitely recommend trying those. I had a very disappointing experience at Checkmate. Unfortunately, the service was extremely unprofessional from start to finish. Our waiter checked on us only once during the entire visit. When we attempted to get her attention, she rolled her eyes and put her head down, which was both disrespectful and inappropriate.

To make matters worse, the host/bartender openly bragged about having rude exchanges with guests. That kind of attitude speaks volumes about...
