Our experience was outstanding. The service was great! The food was unbelievable everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! It was so good that we went back again the following night. This will be a must stop whenever we are in Detroit!

We loved this restaurant. From the minute you walk through the door you are treated to excellence. We had the prime rib and chicken pasta that was amazing. We also tried the cornbread and Mac n cheese sides. Highly recommend all of the above. The highlight was the desert of the spiced candied apple. We will definitely go back next time! Shout out to Benjamin our waiter for doing an amazing job.

First time dining at D Prime Steak House. They only had availability at 10:00 PM, and since they close at 10:30, I understand we were there at the tail end of the night. That said, the service was just okay—nothing terrible, but it did feel a bit rushed. I totally get end-of-night fatigue, but a little more effort would have elevated the experience.

The drinks were honestly the weakest part of the night. The gimlet was overly sour and not very enjoyable. My friend ordered a smoked Old Fashioned, and unfortunately it tasted like butane from the torch used for the smoke effect. To the server’s credit, they exchanged it immediately without any hesitation, which I appreciated.

Now for the highlight: the steak saved the night. Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked to perfection. Easily the star of the show and the reason this place still earns a strong rating. The rest of the food was solid and enjoyable, but the steak truly stood out.

Despite a few hiccups, I’d be willing to give D Prime another try—hopefully earlier in the evening next time to get the full experience.

I enjoyed dining here. It was my first time but the ambience was perfect. Our waiter (Benjamin )was amazing. We only ordered appetizers but that didn’t change his enthusiasm or quality of service. I also noticed a diverse staff. Friendly fine dining.

Had Christmas dinner there. Steaks were awesome, Oscar sauce was incredible with large chunks of crab, and lobster tail was huge and cooked perfectly. Our servers, Diamond and Ali were both great. Only a couple of negatives, the restaurant served chips and dip instead of bread. It was OK but have never had chips and dip at an upscale restaurant; odd choice. We also got the truffle fries. Very underwhelming. They had no flavor and were very basic. For $16, I really thought they would be good. The management really needs to rethink the chips and dip in lieu of bread and remove the overpriced bland fries from the menu.

Great atmosphere but the older lady behind the bar always when I come in has a poor attitude I asked for my martini chilled which I also Bartend at a sports bar and her response was “this is the most chill I can get it” which wasn’t chilled AT ALL what was hard putting ice and some soda to make it cold…. I know she’s busy but if you can’t keep up then don’t bartend in my opinion.

Over rated and overpriced. Ive had better food from a local chain steakhouse as well as at home. Service is terrible. We waited an hour for our food and we’re at the restaurant for three hours! No excuse to have to be there that long or wait so long for our food. Bartenders should be trained to make drinks all the same. When you order a drink twice, they should taste the same.
Was our first and last visit.

First - amazing service from start to finish. Every touch point was spot on. The wagu filet was beyond tender- no steak knife required. Excellent experience.

D. Prime truly lives up to its reputation. I went with the Maple Glazed Salmon, and it was beautifully seared with a delicate balance of flavors—the carrot purée paired surprisingly well with the bright, citrusy Yuzu Beurre Blanc.

My father chose the Chilean Sea Bass, and the clean plate at the end said everything. The Champagne and Tarragon Beurre Blanc added just the right touch of richness without overpowering the fish.

Now, the sides might just steal the entire spotlight. The D. Prime Cornbread arrives in its own cast iron skillet and stays warm through the whole meal. It comes with three different butters: honey ginger, cracked pepper and roasted garlic, and smoked sea salt with maple. There’s truly a flavor for every mood. The Creamed Corn is essential, thanks to the Shishito Peppers adding depth and just a hint of intrigue. And the Sautéed Wild Mushrooms finished with Sherry are rich, earthy, and truly memorable.

In short: go, and go soon.

Sorry to say I did not enjoy this restaurant/experience. Walking in, it smelled terrible. I could smell burning steaks and a fish odor. I should’ve walked out then.
When we got to our table, the waitress took our order. My partner ordered the salmon. I ordered a bone-in ribeye. She then offered salads. I declined, and he ordered a salad.
Food arrived-everything but his fish. She thought he wanted the salad instead. That was confusing. The manager rushed the order and offered a free dessert.
About my steak. It had a small sliver of bone ( not a ribeye btw) and was very tough. I didn’t eat it.
Manager arrived again. Took the steak off the menu and revoked the dessert.
I would not recommend eating here. I’m attaching a picture of the steak…it shows the ‘bone.’ Sides we ordered were not that good either.
