Al Portocarerro

My favorite breakfast sandwich in downtown Detroit. I’m always treated so warmly whenever I come in. Definitely one of my favorite things about going to the office

Great food and service.

Tried to get donuts twice, based on the posted hours, and they were closed both times. The security guy in the building said "oh, she comes in around 6:30". So, ignore the posted hours and assume they're actually closed.

Cute little shop and friendly staff. Delicious pazcki!

Tried the apple fritter. Unfortunately way too dry and dense for my tastes. The service, however, was excellent and the coffee was pretty good too!

Absolutely terrible I was given a watery, buttered bagel. Paid for a bagel with cream cheese...the health department definitely needs to go there ASAP

This place is inside the Penobscot Building, through the main entrance and up the stairs. I stopped in here for lunch with some friends one day while attending an event Downtown. I got a BLT, which was excellent. The others who were with me enjoyed their sandwiches as well. Since many of the other lunch places around here are closed, this is a good, well-priced option for a simple lunch.

Hole in the Wall Donut Shop located inside New Center One building in Detroit. The bagel I had wasn't my favorite, but I have to say the donuts do look tasty. The shop doubles as a mini market of sorts that was pretty much any snack inside that you can think of from candy to ramen to chips. Be prepared that you may have to wait outside of the store in the building- this place is teeny tiny, likely can't accommodate more than three customers at once. No seating.

It's Not Rocket Science

Good prices, friendly service, tasty coffee and donuts with a large selection of made to order sandwiches, drinks and other snacks. Somewhat hard to find if you're not familiar with the building. Go through the north entrance of the Penobscot building on W Fort St.
