Came here as a first timer recommendation from tik tok. Ok so in all honesty I’d probably pass on a second trip. The food was just ok, the green beans were 100% better than the shrimp and potato skins. The best thing was the music and green beans. So yeah bummer to that. The shrimp are huge with so much breading. I think they should do a regular batter vs beer batter on those xxxl shrimp. It’s just way too much even fried hard. Great probably for some summer drinks n music downtown but definitely not worth the hype to me.
7/4 Update: We came back and sat at the bar this time, and there was also a dress code happening. No rear ends hanging out or lots of cleavage showing. I liked that actually, kinda keeps a certain crowd away and I respect that. The security mentioned something about the owner not playing that and if that’s the case , Salute! The music was on point and the food this time was really good. Chicken wings, greens, and Mac n cheese. Not sure if it we got some new cooks, or were were just hungry, or hell it was that good but I was glad I had some to take home. So second visit was far better than the first and I think it’s safe to say I might give another try! Y’all got that. And s/o to TJ at the bar, he was good peoples.

FLOODS is my “GO TO” when I need good vibes, good food and good music. They are consistent which makes them different and always space for you to shake ya tail feather. The Mac and Cheese was BOMB. The fried chicken, Mac and cheese, salmon bites and lemon drop are all good for me. Free on a Saturday night? Try them out.

•last night(06/29/25) - the lady at the front door collecting the money was extremely rude, and didn’t want to honor the ticket/s I had just received earlier…so I asked the security guy if I had the correct ticket/s(which he said yes)and he went ahead to investigate further with whoever, so they finally honored the ticket/s! But the communication was extremely horrible at the end of the day(horrible experience)💯’…

I attended a birthday celebration at Floods last night. This establishment has been a staple for many years, particularly popular in the early 90s. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the bartender's unprofessional demeanor; I waited at the bar for 15 minutes before I was able to place my order. I had to initiate the conversation by asking, "Hello, can I order a drink?" To make matters worse, their liquor selection was quite limited. When I requested a Patron margarita, the bartender informed me that they did not have Patron and, in fact, very little liquor overall. One would expect a bartender to offer alternatives, but that was not the case. Later on, my daughter ordered three meals. While the chicken was satisfactory, the candied yams were disappointing. I am willing to pay for quality food, but it seems that we often receive subpar offerings at high prices. Am I alone in feeling this way? I am becoming increasingly frustrated.

Food is okay.. drinks are strong… but service is TRASH! Took so long just to get app orders.. then we had to chase another server down for app plates… needed silverware and asked the busser that collected app plates if he could get us some due the server only coming back every 30mins. And he had a whole attitude and didn’t bring any. Finally got the dinner order in and we been here since 630 and it’s now 8pm!!! This is the worst service I have ever experienced! But when you do automatic 20% gratuity the servers will give you trash service cause they know they will get paid regardless of how they treat you… there’s a lot of potential here.. but there’s MAJOR work that needs to be done.
Everytime I come back to Detroit, I have to come here! The food and drinks are amazing. The music and crowd is a vibe I miss so much! Love Floods!

My first time checking out Flood’s and I’ll be back! I loved the music & laid back mature vibe. The lamb chops, greens, and yams were really good . The shrimp were ok, I’m just not a fan of beer battered fried stuff. Also I got a parking ticket lol do not park by the bus stop. And they add 20% gratuity on your bill even if you’re alone or sitting at the bar. I did love that they had happy hour until 9 pm on a SATURDAY night !! Wow !!! ?
Not sure when this started , Floods food all comes from the can, sweet potatoes, greens, etc. the Fish nuggets are absolutely disgusting! Also, they seasoned their food with tons of salts! It used to be my go to place to eat. They were very consistent. The food used to be delicious! as of late They are feeding people garbage. Another ridiculous Custom they have: they make you pay to pick up your carryout order, like your pain admissions ?????? Do better floods
