Food was not what we anticipated. We had the ribs, seabream and the crispy chicken wings. Best things was the wings. Absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately nothing else really landed at that same level. Service was great and attentive just wish the food would've matched. Cute vibe though

Undercooked prawn that actually looked off was really… off putting, rice dish was flavoursome but stodgy with barely anything else in it, I could count on one hand the pieces of “Chinese sausage” and shrimps, the chicken dish was very overcooked. Entrance hall scruffy and not very welcoming. Very dark for a restaurant and for me the music was good but did not go with the food, that’s personal taste I guess . The staff is amazing, and will do all they can to make sure you have a nice time. Maybe we were unlucky tonight but would not make the trip again.

Flowers of Vietnam should be on everyone’s list of best Detroit restaurants. The lack of a sign on an unassuming block of Vernon highway provides a bit of mystery. Our greeter has been there every time we’ve been there: a beautiful friendly person. The cocktails are perfectly balanced, exotic, and creative. And less pricey than their competitors. We always start with the green papaya salad. I always wish we’d ordered two. Extraordinarily creative dish that never disappoints. We love the fried rice with shrimp and sausage. The barbecued corn reflected the beginning of our fresh corn season: a real yummy side. The star of the show tonight was the whole fried bream with charred tomato coulee, cilantro and black rice. Maybe the best fish I’ve ever eaten and what a presentation !! The price point here with included gratuity easily is 20-25% less than other high quality Detroit restaurants: and the staff is cooler, the vibe more diverse and the music better. Please support this Detroit treasure. I promise you will immediately want to return.

This place not having a Michelin star yet is an absolute travesty. It easily stacks up.

It's usually a great experience but there was a hair in my food this time. Of course, when I pointed it out, it was promptly and professionally dealt with, but I lost my appetite shortly thereafter. That's the first time I experienced that here, though, so I'll have to go back and give them another chance.

Flowers of Vietnam was nothing short of phenomenal. The decor was unassuming yet cozy the staff was very friendly. The drinks were delicious and very well crafted. The first drink was called dessert garden which was a very drinkable spirit forward cocktail with tequila and mezcal which was heavenly. The bartender MARCO was friendly and knowledgeable. After drinks we were seated in the dining room our server LISA was excellent, she was very friendly and patient and coursed our food perfectly. I’m not exaggerating when I say that every single dish that came to the table was nothing short of exquisite. We started with the cucumber salad and the papaya salad with prawns. The prawns were cooked to perfection so much so that my guest and I ordered 2 more large orders of prawns. The sticky chicken wings managed to be perfectly crisp despite being covered in the most delicious sticky sweet and savory sauce which usually would take away from the crunch factor but not here. The sea bream was out of this world. The ribs were smoky and delicious and full of southeast Asian flavor. The pork chop was probably the best pork chop I have ever had in my life which was accompanied with Vietnamese sausage that was sweet smoky and savory. By dessert we were to full to continue however we agreed that we had to get something sweet to finish such an amazing meal so we ended with the flan which was incomparable. It had a coconut and mango flavor which I forced myself to finish despite already being stuffed. I cannot recommend this place enough, definitely a must eat place in Detroit.

Was very excited to try since my favorite music man Danny Brown recommended..He in rehab now so maybe explains differently abled taste. Food very bland ...broccoli with NO SEASONINGS nor sauce...like weight watchers menu?.,other dishes overall gross and not pleasant / strange flavor combinations. Tofu tasted like sand and tomato sauce? Once expensive restaurant meant good service. We were ignored ,had to flag down hip guy . we asked why each dish was brought out separately so got cold while wife hungry, -we were told it's Asian style? We want a good wage for staff but maybe forced gratuity makes bad service? Tacky. Oh and chef was seen swatting fly in kitchen towards food no beard net. It's another loud music, bad food, bad service, restaurant with decor from older better cheaper restaurant of past, made for suburban trad mom to think wow Detroit is funky and I didn't get mugged so .i guess I enjoy this slop. ps my lady threw up after. Not joke. I will give a flower to Vietnamese in apology for this experience.

Finally got the opportunity to try this spot. I've heard great things for year especially about the wings. First I'll say, the host was so sweet and nice no issues there. The food was decent, the highlight being the wings. But honestly it's all a bit pricey and there's an automatic 20% gratuity added no matter the size of your party PLUS a 3% credit card charge. It's one thing to auto grat larger parties but as a party of 2 it seemed too much especially because our service was so bad. The drinks we ordered took way too long. We got there at the beginning of dinner service so it wasn't that busy for another 45 minutes into our meal. We got our food fairly fast. The food was fine, definitely cool to try different cuisine but there wasn't something I'd say you *have* to go back and try besides the korean fried chicken wings. My partner ordered a dessert coffee drink which took another honestly 35 minutes for our server to finally bring. They mentioned how sorry they were the coffee took long to make and didn't charge us for it. But it was disappointing to not have been checked in on while we were waiting. It was as if they were avoiding our table. Once we got the coffee we were nervous we'd wait even longer to get the check and so we asked for it at that time, the server seemed annoyed, brought it, ran the card without saying there's a 3% cc charge along with the 20% auto grat. It really just left us feeling deflated. We spent $157 and got 2 cocktails and 4 dishes. I wouldn't go back due to the poor service and maybe just order take out for the wings.

We've been waiting to try this place so we hopped on over when we could. First, walking up to the entrance it was so unassuming, once we stepped inside it was lovely. It was a Friday night so maybe this is why the music was turned up a bit. I love that they have the separation from the bar seating and the open view of the kitchen. The food was really good! The chicken wings lived up the hype and we tried the cauliflower which was lovely with that coconut sauce. The flavors here are pretty good but could be a bit more punchy, just my own opinion. We had the pork chop for our main entree. The porkchop was cooked to perfection. But the overall plate left a bit to be desired. In sum, I will return to try the fish and shaky beef and a few other items in the future, the service, and atmosphere was great and rhe food was good.
