The waitstaff was super helpful, answered all our questions, and explained the dishes. The drinks were beautiful, and the pork and chicken used in the Yakitori turned out sooo succulent. They had a great variety of options: Yakitori, Ramen, rice bowls, and salads. We even had some specialty seafood--sea urchin--that you can't find commonly elsewhere.

The ambiance here is beautiful, and the food is even better. The nigiri is always fresh, & a nice selection to choose from. The beef tongue is AMAZING the chimichurri sauce is straight from of heaven. The pork bao buns never disappoint. Everything I’ve had here so far has been phenomenal. Really gorgeous date night spot.

Omakase experience was great and well worth the price. I added on the olive wagyu, and while the portion was small it was the best wagyu I've ever tasted. We left feeling full, which is not always guaranteed from a small plates tasting menu. The server and chef were very nice and accommodating. The ambiance is great, the red hole in the wall bar looks straight out of Blade Runner.

Amazing food and amazing service. Nothing bad to say, very authentic flavors. Extra points for everything being fully halal.

Amber was the best, every single dish was amazing. 4th or 5th time back. The beef tongue & scallop are always phenomenal, as well as their nigiri options. Pork bao buns have a special place in my heart

Unprofessional!!!!
I’ve been here three times and I think that’s about all they’ll get out of me. First things first: every hostess I’ve encountered at the front desk is unfriendly. No smiles, no warmth and it’s exhausting. Second: the door to the kitchen, which faces the host area was open, leaving waiting patrons to stare into the kitchen during service and constantly be asked to move while the manager on duty used it, without so much as an ‘excuse me’.
The first time I came, the service was impeccable. In fact, it’s the reason I came back. This time? Our waitress ignored us, the assistant manager had to come by to apologize. This was all before we even got poured water. Maybe she decided she didn’t like who we were in the restaurant (you can guess). Maybe she thought we wouldn’t tip. But the result was a discounted bill and an evening full of frustration from our server being disinterested in the kind of service the place implies you’ll receive. On top of that the food was mid. The rolls? Bleh. The curry? Bland.
Detroit has plenty of great sushi. Try another cute spot.

Wow! Can't say enough good things about this spot. It's my favorite in Metro Detroit. While we have come many times before, recently we did the Omakase and LOVED it. Louis is excellent and a great host.

Distracted and somewhat chilly host vibes. Also let them know it was a special occasion when I made the reservation and was placed at one of the worst tables in the restaurant(not sure why they even asked if they didn’t care and weren’t going to take it into consideration in any way). The food was very good but it didn’t feel special. I miss Sozai😞

The restaurant is located at the basement of Washington Histrionic District. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The service was top notch even it was busy but they came checked on us periodically and when they brought the dishes over they brief what in it. The food was very delicious I have been to so many Japanese restaurants and this one can definitely compare to other superior one . I would definitely recommend any one who live in Mid West to go try this place. No word can describe this restaurant is really one of a kind.
