Food and service were outstanding. Everything was excellent. The atmosphere is 5 stars for aesthetics, but it was REALLY loud and hard to hear the person I was sitting with. We had a large group near us, so that may not be the case all the time.

Food would of been better if service was better. Bartender did not give us happy hour menus. We ended up ordering some HH menu items and were charged full price. We would of asked to get it sorted it out but it probably would taken too long to get attention to the matter.

Second time at ima izakaya and food and service were great. Spicy tuna hand roll could use some work but we loved the chicken katsu curry and lamb gyoza ?

Very disappointed with the food here. It's a weird mix of Asian-American fusion without the satisfaction of either. My partner and I (who are both asian) had the pork belly skewer, pork belly rice bowel, and fried chicken karage and all three were extremely salty with flavors that did not mix well with one another (ex: overcooked pork belly and bbq sauce). 'Izakaya' means Japanese bar food, so you would expect gizzards, organs, or even just more grilled options, but those were few and poorly prepared. The only saving grace was our server who could tell after the first few bites we wanted to leave, and was quick about checking us out.

Sam made the entire experience so much better. The atmosphere is great, the food is good, and the service is top notch. Sam might be the best server I've ever had, and my party of six agreed.

My biggest recommendation that I can make is if your ordering hot or cold appetizers and a main course do not order everything at the same time. The kitchen is making everything fresh but super fast! The tables are not very large so it's possible you'll end up with a table full of food and not much space. The reality is everything is meant to be shared and the quality of your meal is outstanding! You will be blown away by the flavor profiles. Service was 10 out of 10!

The food is amazing. The portions are very large and shareable! It’s very busy on the weekends and the service reflects that, but no complaints!Dietary restrictions: They have a lot of gluten free options.Kid-friendliness: It’s a large open floor plan, it’s loud already so perfect for families!
