Stopped by for dinner without reservations. Sat at the bar for about 10min while we waited for a table. Had a local IPA and cider. Both on draft and both amazing. Made our way to our table and ordered tuna tar tar for a starter, tonkatsu ramen and a beef pho. Every dish was incredible, thoughtful and perfectly seasoned. One of my favorite Corktown restaurants. This is a great place for Japanese food and I have yet to eat anything I haven't liked here. I love the variety of drinks including canned sake. The waitstaff is friendly and will offer suggestions. Tons of plant-based and pescatarian options

If you’re looking for a happy hour that’s actually worth it, Ima Izakaya should definitely be on your Detroit food list.

Every appetizer we ordered during happy hour was made fresh to order, so dishes came out as they were ready rather than all at once. I actually appreciated that because everything arrived hot, fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The food was easily the highlight of the experience.
