Sitting here this good Sunday morning anticipating the day J's Cafe will reopen. I can't wait, and it's been too long. Nobody in Detroit makes Salmon croquets served with rice and gravy 😋 (my preference over grits)👌with scrambled eggs as good as J's does. The greasy spoon when I was coming up. Now it's a place to sit and have a delicious home cooked meal... Salmon grits with scrambled eggs. Meatloaf mash and gravy with a side of corn. Waiting patiently for them to re-open. They're renovating.
Delicious food, especially the pancakes! Staff is really nice. Just great energy from customers as well. I grew up in this area. I’m so grateful that they’re still serving the community. ?
