I've been patronizing this restaurant since its conception. Same menu?; new owners? The experience of that "Old World Italian" charm is gone and the new staff needs an abundance of training regarding professionalism, tact and upscale dining etiquette. I will order carryout but will not be returning to dine in.

We sat at the bar and the waitress attitude and customes service was lack luster. She didn't ask how the food was and took forever to follow back up after drinks were served to take our order. After dinner we asked for change to leave tip, she asked was it for valet and said no change was in register and we would have to go to valet for change ?. That to me was obvious she aint want no tip, however still left one even though it WASN'T warranted. Won't be back!

What happened? I'm confused. Why buy a very successful, beloved and fantastic restaurant and then completely change all of the things that made it great for decades?Legitimately confused.

Received good service. The food was sub par. The pasta were on the soft side and the risotto was average at best. there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offers better Italian food for less cost. It’s no wonder the restaurant was so empty during peak dinner hour on a Friday night.

Very disappointed! New ownership. This place has lost its charm. This was our favorite restaurant for years. Drove an hour to come to find our hidden gem was not the same. The atmosphere was modern and bright. Gold silverware. Really. Not the romantic Italian restaurant we used to come to. We missed our regular staff that used to work here. The food was definitely not good. I always got the same dish. Gnocchi It did not taste homemade. Dont waste your money

I came in with a party of 3. I personally had a mojito margarita and the tenderloin tips. The mojito was amazing. The tips were awful, I requested medium and they were beyond that and lacked flavor. The only reason I stomached them was because of the gorgonzola sauce. My friend described them as dog food. I chose not to send them back because I didn't want to cause my server any issues. Speaking of my server Jason provided phenomenal service!!Parking: The parking lot is paid valet only. Find your place on the street if you can. It's limited

Awful they changed whole charming ambiance & old world feel of this genuinely historic place. All gorgeous architectural details & vintage woodnow painted completely PINK&WHITE (like a gentlemans club vibe or something ‍) Apparently there's new owners - and while was a favorite of ours before - whelp, we probably won't be going back. Food was decent, but it's a new & way $$$pricier menu. Will say we did have an excellent Server though!

All 3 of us had food that was overcooked. My salmon hash I asked for me eggs to not be runny and I received a cut up boiled egg. The boiled egg was 3 different shades of yellow on the inside. I showed it to the person that removed my plate. The bartender was phenomenal, serving us at the bar and the tables in the restaurant. My sisters were both unhappy with their food. This was our 1st time back in years and the ambiance was very poor. The pink paint was not appealing, no music as stated on the website and the bathrooms were not updated with everything else.

Terrible service we were late for concert. Worst waitress in the world. Smallest bloody Mary I have ever seen as it was served in a 6 oz highball glass. no olives, pickles, only a lime. In this day of craft cocktails? What happened it WAS such a good brunch choice.

Not fine dining as it once was. The renovations are horrible , no ambience , bright lights that flickered , The noise level was terrible, you had to shout to talk at same table. The service terrible , all four of us felt rushed , our waiter never checked on us and food had gone down , too salty and veal piccata was very think and worst I have eaten. our bottle of fine wine came after meal served. I have no problem spending lots of money on good food/wine , not here anymore, after many years of loving this restaurant, not any of us are going back. .

I made a reservation at LDV to celebrate a friend's birthday. I hadn't been to LDV since 2018, but I had recently heard wonderful things! I have to say that my expectations were exceeded! Our waiters Jason and Leo were phenomenal!!!! They offered wonderful suggestions, and all of our food was fantastic! The ambience was lovely, and the parking safe and light so well it was like being at Comerica park at night. This is truly a beautiful and delicious restaurant just a short run down Woodward! I can't wait to return soon.

Apparently the restaurant was sold in May 2023. We used to love going there. At first glance, the updates are attractive. It was over an hour before we received our meal and then it was cold. The scallops were not seared. The lamb chops were overcooked. Our waitress was not nice about it. We will not be going back.
