Right next door to American Coney but their coneys have a slightly better snap. An original itself, you have to have both to decide which is better or just have both for the appreciation of Detroit Coney Dogs! Lafayette welcomes you as you enter and you can grab your coneys right at the door, $4 for a Coney, great price. Do it for the snap!
I finally made it to Lafayette Coney Island, and it absolutely lived up to its legendary reputation. I ordered a couple of classic Coney dogs with fries, and they were simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. The combination of the perfectly cooked hot dog, savory chili, mustard, and onions was exactly what I was hoping for. It was an authentic Detroit experience.

Best after concert or before Tigers game spot...or anytime they're open...closed at midnight tonight...actually saw the closed sign at 11:56. They were swamped still. Delicious snappy dog and super soft bun! Loved it!
