Stopped in for a latte while in The D. I come up to Detroit every year and get some coffee shop reviews in. This trip was no exception. I found a hidden gem coffee shop. My Vanilla Latte was excellent. The vibes inside the coffee shop were excellent. A hand painted mural was breathtaking. The gentleman working was friendly and a super respectful young man no older than 6 held the door open for me while he was waiting for his Dad to enter. This coffee shop is a must.
This cafe feels like a love letter to Detroit, further emphasized by the mural on the wall. I love the desserts, especially the cupcakes and the cookies. This is a great space for working or renting the meeting space in the back.
Morningside Soul Food Cafe makes the most delicious Salmon Croquet I have ever had. This is definitely a restaurant to bring family to for good soul food. They made a special Garlic Parmesan sauce for the deliciously tender, scrumptious bone-free Salmon Croquet. I highly recommend you support this black-owned business. As someone who loves to do charity in the Chandler Park community; one of the best ways to support overcoming poverty is supporting those who stand as role models...
