Motor City Soul Food

Oak Park location is closed. Drove to the 7 Mile location. People standing in line outside, in the heat, I suppose for social distancing, allowing a few at a time inside. Construction is also going on from Meyers Rd heading west . Not a good day to try to get food from Motor City. Will try again in a few weeks.

I stood in line for 45 minutes for sticker shock. I ordered hamburger steaks in brown gravy, candied yams, and mac and cheese. I saw them fill 8 oz Styrofoam bowls with the sides. Then I saw them put 5 golf ball sized meatballs in a clamshell. I got to the register, the cashier said, $19.55. I asked was there an error, she said, "No that's the price." I looove coming here for a meal of blackeye peas, yams, collards, and spaghetti. Yuuuummmm. They have spaghetti with or without cheese!! I just love that. ALL the sides are good. I've had many of them. they have a lot of meats. I've not tasted the ribs, smothered liver, nor turkeyy necks, just to name a few. Can't speak on that. I haven't had the pork chops but I can tell they're good. I'm not getting anymore wing dinners for $15. It's four wings. Kroger's got 8 Amish wings that...read full review
